Unfortunately, the cake I received looked significantly different from what was advertised.
I understand handmade items can vary, but this was not a small variation in detail, the overall finish, structure, and quality did not match the image used to sell the product.
When I raised my concern, the business declined to take responsibility or offer a resolution. All managers that I spoke to told me a different version. The day we got the cake was the day of the birthday , we called and spoke with Sirverio (one of the managers) and told us to go the next day and get a store credit and he was going to tell the manager of the next day so they knew about the store credit. When we got there MariCarmen refused to give us the store credit because we were supposed to bring back the cake when Sirveria DID NOT tell us that and just told us to use the cake and go the next day for the store credit. MariCarmen told us she was gonna call her upper managers to see what they could do for us because NONE of the managers say the same thinng and everyone says a different thing. MariCarmen never called us , shocking! We called her and she told is the excuse that she had lost our phone number but she had my dads, that lie doesnt make any sense. MariCarmen told us she was gonna call us with a follow up and she never did and its been 3 days now. We asked MariCarmen to speak with the business owners and she ignored our request. She is VERY UNPROFESSIONAL AND A LIAR. MariCarmen doesn’t care about the costumers. I was disappointed by the lack of accountability and transparency, especially since the advertised image appears to be heavily edited or Al-generated and this was not disclosed.
I’m sharing this so other customers can make an informed decision before ordering.
I will show the image they posted on their instagram which appears to be AI and the image of the cake we received.
If you guys care about what your cake will look like for your birthday dont order it from here because they will make a design thats ugly and they wont take accountability about it.
$50 that we wasted on a cake that was not what we ordered!
Today I went to FLORIDA BAKERY to have breakfast with my family. Once I placed the order and paid, I sat down to wait. After a while, one of the employees called over some of my relatives to notify them that the hot chocolate ☕️, we ordered was unavailable.
Since the person who ordered it doesn’t drink coffee or soda, we asked how they could help us and suggested a cup of orange juice instead. The employee went to check with the manager on duty and returned to tell us that we would have to pay a $1.50 difference.
We explained that the $1.50 wouldn’t be an issue if it were our mistake, but we were never informed that the product was out of stock during the ordering process. It wasn’t until after we had paid and were waiting that they told us. We told the employee that the establishment should cover that cost since it was their error for not updating us on the lack of availability.
Seeing their refusal, I immediately requested to cancel the order and get a refund. The employee never tried to advocate for us as customers. She went back to the manager, who—without hesitation—canceled the order instead of looking for an alternative. It is unbelievable that a manager would rather lose a $30 order and a customer over $1.50. That is not customer service.
To make matters worse, I don’t live in the area; I live an hour away and stopped by based on a recommendation. It was the worst experience I’ve had at an establishment. It’s a shame to receive this kind of treatment from one Latino to another. This is why businesses often have to close their doors—not for lack of support, but because of poor service.
We ended up having breakfast at their competitor right across the street (initials: TB). It’s incredible that a manager, knowing there is a competitor right in front of them, would ruin a customer’s morning over an internal error. That manager needs intensive training on customer service and what it means to go the “extra mile” for those who keep the business running and pay their payroll.
Everything is FRESH. Like, “just came out of Abuelita’s oven” fresh. The place is spotless, super family-friendly, and everyone greets you like you’re already part of the crew. The cakes? Magazine-cover beautiful. Instagram cried when I took a bite without posting first.
It was my first time, but definitely not my last. My friend calls this her go-to bakery, and now I’m seriously considering showing up for breakfast and lunch like it’s my job. Somebody warn my jeans.
I visit this bakery frequently, and the food is generally good when available. However, a word of advice: avoid coming after 6 PM on weekends. While their hours may say they’re open until 10 PM, the hot bar is often picked over, and basics like white rice was not available or may have been sitting out for hours.
Unfortunately, the staff seemed more focused on cleaning up for the night than on providing customer service. We arrived around 7:20 PM, and their attitude was rude and disinterested. I could understand it if it were closer to closing time, but this was much earlier.
I’ve noticed multiple reviews mentioning poor customer service, and it seems management hasn’t addressed this issue.
Bottom line: The food is good, but the best food experience is before 5 PM. Evening visits will be disappointing!
