Locavore locale at the Fairmont Pittsburgh serving updated American plates in a smart setting.

I have just experienced what can only be described as a masterpiece of economic storytelling on a plate. I ordered the $23 Omelette, a dish I now understand is less of a menu item and more of a conceptual art piece on the theme of ‘supply and demand.’
The omelette itself was a shy, fleeting creature. It occupied a space on the plate roughly the size of a credit card (which is fitting, as you’ll need one). It whispered of cheese and perhaps a chive, but its voice was quickly lost in the roaring crowd of its companion.
That companion, of course, was the potatoes. A veritable mountain range of them. A sprawling, golden-brown empire that colonized the vast majority of the porcelain landscape. I’m fairly certain the chef’s objective was to ensure I met my daily potassium quota for the entire week. They were fine, in the way a fire hydrant is a fine source of water—abundant and fundamentally adequate.
After a thorough investigation, I’ve concluded the menu description was simply missing a word. It should have read: ‘A Generous Portion of Potatoes, with Omelette.’ For $23, it’s an unforgettable lesson in how to value the cheapest ingredient.

one of the fanciest restaurants with great ambience, service, foods and drinks. I had a reservation for 715pm, was seated immediately on arrival. Waiter was very kind and checked on us often. The food was very tantalizing, savory, mouth-watering…, name it all. I ordered the full chicken, roasted brussels sprouts and mashed potatoes and had the espresso martini. No regrets. Will be coming again and again to this place!!

Good tasty. Service very good. Location is convenient if staying at Fairmont.
The problem is the size of the omelette is ridiculously small for $24.
I just noticed the previous review a month ago mentioned the EXACT same thing! Looks like they’re not paying attention until they turn off every guest that eats there.
We eat breakfast downtown quite a bit and will NOT return here.

We had a great experience at brunch on Sunday at FL.2 inside the Fairmont Hotel. It is a beautiful restaurant with casually, elegant decor and lots of natural light. You can enjoy a beautiful view of the city from almost anywhere in the restaurant.
Service was great and very professional. The food was really good too. I had the delicious breakfast sandwich with breakfast potatoes. It was very good. My mom had the ham and chive omelette which she really enjoyed. We started our meal with citrusy, boozy white wine sangria and we finished with perfectly brewed cups of coffee. I’d love to visit FL.2 again.

We were really looking forward to a Wednesday girls’ night at FL.2 and were excited about their Veuve Clicquot “Happy Meal.” The hostess was wonderful and seated us quickly in the bar area, but unfortunately we sat for 25 minutes without being greeted by a server. Even after asking for assistance, we were still not helped, so we left without ordering. We ended up at Capital Grille bar, where service was prompt and welcoming. We hope FL.2 can improve service timing, as the concept sounded great.

What an incredible dining experience! So often the staff can make dinner so much more exceptional. We have been to a lot of restaurants in the USA and abroad. Jered was unequivocally the best server we have ever had. He is extremely personable, very knowledgeable, and goes out of his way to make every course of your meal exceptional. I just cannot speak highly enough of his skill set. On top of that, the food was outstanding. We loved the pear salad with the port wine reduction. The onion soup was the best we’ve ever had. They even went the extra step to split the portion in two bowls! Grilled bread service with flavored butter. The filet with homemade mole sauce was incredible. The sauce was so good I asked for extra! Cocktails were creative and unique. The chocolate cake was fresh and worth the calories. Executive chef Canales visited our table and told us about the complexities of making homemade mole sauce. He has a secret ingredient! If you’ve not been to this FL. 2 recently, I would strongly suggest you go. It is well worth it!

Environment is super nice and drinks are good. I have been here before and loved it, however I came here on Valentine’s Day and saw they were offering foie gras. Foie gras is made from literally torturing a bird, most places don’t serve it because it’s unethical. I’m disturbed they serve this and anyone that’s ordering it!

The Caesar salad with salmon was absolutely incredible. This is the prettiest restaurant I’ve ever seen, the bar is amazing. I loved my experience here. The valet is an amazing perk since parking in Pittsburgh can be difficult
