My wife took me here this was our first visit. We were greeted enthusiastically. We didn’t know what we wanted to order and everything was explained to us very well along with we may not need a full order of fries as we are a bit older a smaller of a couple. (He was very correct) The music was great. The atmosphere was great. The drink options were fantastic. The Bacon cheeseburger that I had was awesome. I loved the fries I’m a sticker for fries too. (We both loved the fries). I do have to report there were no leftovers to bring home and usually we do. O and I did take time to appreciate the sign that showed where our potatoes came from. That was in my book. Those fries were delicious.

Five guys has just a few menu items but they are executed so well.
I got a cheeseburger (which comes with two patties) all the way with Jalapeños. The fries are a generous portion of whole potato fries, cooked brown and crispy, salty and delicious.
We were there early in the day and everything was clean.

1st time at Five Guys. French fries were the highlight. Real potatoes. They also have peanuts in the shell for you to eat while you wait for food. The person taking my order was very friendly and helpful. Now the down side…my burger was over cooked, dry, and actually crunchy is spots. Would go back for fries and maybe try a shake.

First visit to Five Guys in Ames. Great Time, good food, probably top two or three burgers in Ames. A LOT A fries, a regular is pictured, plus there is more in the bottom of the bag. More parking than you would think. No wifi, no place to lock up bike, outside seating though, great bathrooms.

Sad and waited for 25 minutes for two burgers that were prepared incorrectly. Then had to sit and wait again for them to be recooked. They could have offered us a free drink or fries or something.

This five guys is a bit smaller than i expected. Very first time ever and it was a really nice experience. Food to me is a bit pricey but the food made in front of you i liked. It wasn’t the WOW for me personally but would come back!
