Food is amazing and I am a picky seafood eater. Excellent oysters, very tasty (rather small) lobster roll, crispy chips, tasty lime pie. Very nice design (there are also seats outside), 1 minute away from the ocean. Music, positive vibes. High end in terms of price but good.

Really good. It’s very small and the vibe makes it really cozy and feels like a small East coast beach-side raw bar.
The service was very good. All stars there.
I think they do a good job of controlling the acidity of their dishes and they have interesting takes on all the old standbys. It definitely borders on michelin-star bait in terms of their choices, but I wouldn’t be too worried about their lack of recognition, their offering is already priced as if they have one.
Things we liked: the key lime pie. Standout of the meal. The French fries, the clam chowder and the octopus.
Not as much: i think some of the stuff on the menu is overpoweringly one note especially for the price. When you’re buying what is essentially $40 congee, it would be nice to have something else there to break up the monotony.

Where do I even begin?! Everything was exceptional beginning to end. My husband and I were visiting from Houston and wanted to celebrate our wedding anniversary in a special way. Mission accomplished! The food is superb and the staff is what you hope for in any dining experience. Bryce greeted us with a smile. Shelby provided a detailed breakdown of the menu and checked in with us frequently during our stay. Sebastian is an absolute delight and made our anniversary beyond memorable! Everyone was so kind which warranted hugs from us upon leaving.
Every course was the best ever, and we know food. Lol

Fantastic seafood in a great location. The oyster and French fry combo was excellent, as was the hamachi sashimi. Good cocktail selection. Interior of the restaurant is very small and it can get a bit loud.

FWD was everything I hoped for! Reminded me of a local joint in Cornelius, Seaboy, with the counter/kitchen seating and tightly packed space, lots of energy, and a clear passion for seafood. Everything was fresh, delicious & creative, including the cocktails! Would highly recommend it to anyone in the Manhattan Beach area. Go get “blown away“!

Small and quaint, friendly and attentive staff. All ingredients were super fresh, high quality, and paired expertly. Cocktails were fun and tasty. Will definitely return. Oysters were amazing. Hamachi sashimi was great. Octopus was different…….less cooked than I am used to, very soft and lacking flavor, or maybe the other items on the plate overpowered it. Ceviche was amazing; I need 3 more! Lobster roll was totally unnecessary, but necessary. Lol. So good. Key lime pie was first class; so well balanced with a crunchy, tasty crust.

The Food: Everything is remarkably fresh. If you go, the seafood tower is an absolute must—especially if you love oysters. You won’t be disappointed. Also, don’t sleep on the clam chowder; it is hands-down bomb.
Drinks & Atmosphere: They have a great cocktail and wine selection that pairs perfectly with the salt air. It’s a small, popular spot, so it stays busy for good reason!

Reservations: Definitely make one! If you’re a walk-in, they might be able to squeeze a duo in at the bar, but anything more than two people will be tough without a booking.

One of our faves in SoCal! Love to come here for a quick bite or for special occasions. Just a block from the beach, so we either walk the beach before or after. Recently celebrated my birthday here for an early lunch. Our server was Elijah and he was great! We usually always get the oysters and octopus. This time we also tried the lobster rolls and the boullabaise. Everything was delicious! Cocktails are good, too, and the chocolate pretzel bread pudding we shared for dessert was amazing!

Incredible food. Fantastic service. It was so good that i got two entrées and dessert (I usually have one entrée and skip dessert). I got the hamachi sashimi, chilean sea bass, ora king salmon, and bread pudding. Everything on each plate was great. The portions aren’t large, so you don’t fill up, at least not with the lower-carb entrées I ordered. It’s one of the best restaurants I’ve been to.
Update: Two years later, it is still my favorite seafood restaurant in Manhattan Beach.
