We called in after a lovely walk on a blustery New Year’s Eve with what seemed like the rest of east anglia as it was really busy, we got there about 3-45pm when they were supposed to be closing at 4pm and they were packed with customers , quickly took our order and our food was ready quickly too. I went for the jumbo battered sausage and chips and the sausage was definitely jumbo partner had standard battered sausage and chips. Both meals piping hot and very tasty not the biggest portion for the price but I can’t fault the food at all and definitely will return !

Lovely fish and chip meal in the centre of Hunstanton and great value special at £13.50 including tea and bread and butter. Highly recommended. Fast friendly service too.

My partner and I popped into Fishers of Hunstanton over the weekend after a local recommended it, and honestly, it turned out to be the best choice we could have made. We wandered in just before closing, fully expecting the usual end-of-day rush, but the staff were unbelievably friendly, down-to-earth and genuinely welcoming. Not once did we feel hurried – if anything, they made us feel like old friends dropping by.

The quality of the food was exceptional. We didn’t mind spending a bit more for the sides because it was absolutely worth every penny. It’s rare these days to come across a seaside chippy that actually serves fresh seafood when they’re right by the coast, but Fishers truly delivered. Nothing frozen, nothing microwaved – just proper fresh fish, perfectly cooked.

I went for the seafood platter (£17), which came with chips and a choice of gravy, beans, mushy peas or curry. The platter itself was fantastic – fresh cod bites, scampi, calamari and another bit of seafood I unfortunately can’t recall, all served with lemon wedges. Every bite was beautifully crisp and full of flavour. The cod bites in particular were a standout: freshly battered, cooked right there and then, and miles better than anything I’ve had in a long time.
My partner ordered the cod & prawn fishcake with chips and gravy (£13.50), and we also couldn’t resist adding a battered sausage, some scampi, a beer and a J20. Altogether, the bill came to around £49 – and for the quality, portion sizes and service, it felt more than fair.

Now, I have to mention the chips. I never finish my chips – ever. But these? Crispy, golden, and delicious even without sauce. It’s been ages since I’ve had chips this good, and I genuinely enjoyed every last one. Only comment would make it the sausage wished it was a jumbo battered sausage and only one of my calamari ring from seafood platter was just slightly over well-done. (It was the only one piece but not complaining since it was just my preference however, my partner loved the very well-done of the one calamari ring).

All in all, Fishers of Hunstanton is a proper treasure. Fresh seafood, generous portions, lovely staff and top-notch quality. If you’re in Hunstanton and fancy fish and chips done right, this is absolutely the place to go. We stumbled upon it by chance, but we’ll definitely be coming back on purpose.
Highly recommended! ✨

Some of the best fish and chips I have ever had. Service was brilliant and the taking of orders and speed of getting the orders out was brilliant. Price was reasonable too. All food was delicious. Can see why they have won awards! Can’t be faulted so well done!

We came here after a visit to Hunstanton. Having eaten in a few years ago, I remember it was very good. We decided to get a takeaway, I chose cod and chips, with a side of mushy peas and my partner had a bettered jumbo sausage with chips, we also do a couple of bottles of drink. All came to around £30. The young lady behind the counter was pleasant and friendly and the food was quick, all served in very smart branded boxes. We sat out on the green. The food was lovely, both fish and sausage were battered perfectly and it was light and crisp. The portion of chips was very generous. Looking forward to trying the restaurant

Brilliant food served by amazing staff

Came here for tea about 6pm to sit in the restaurant. We booked a table on their website, just in case it was busy. We had Haddock and the Scampi. Both came with a good portion of chips and choice of side, we went for the highly recommended Minty Mushy Peas and they didn’t disappoint, they were amazing, it all was to be fair, fish was fresh, lovely and flaky, batter perfect! The curry sauce and Halloumi fries were top notch also

The staff were fab too, we were served by Benny & Maisie who were bubbly, engaging and really friendly.

We’ll be back next year, however I’m unsure if we’ll have enough room in the car to fit any hunky Geordie men in though

5 stars

Great fish and chips to dine in with the family! Haven’t had Rock and chips and cod roe in a long time!
The haddock was very fresh and children’s meals were just right. Minted mushy peas were a little too mushy/ watery but we enjoyed the whole dining experience. Baby changing table available too.

Fish was delicious and flaky. Batter was cooked to perfection, nice and crispy. Service felt a little rushed but none the less still ok. Chips tasty.

Went on a freezing Friday 19th November. We were going to get a takeaway Fish and chips but it was blowing an icy gale so we went in the restaurant.
It was lovely and warm and the staff were very welcoming.
The sit down lunch special was £13.50 and I chose Fish, chips, mushy peas and bread and butter with a cup of tea ALL for £13.50! Not only was it great value, the meal was fantastic too! My wife had curry sauce instead of peas and the curry sauce was the best we’ve tasted. Definitely a cut above usual chippy curry sauce. Yes the portions were smaller than a takeaway but more than enough with the bread and butter and warm drinks included…The fish was excellent quality too! … 5 star meal! Well done!
