My wife has been waiting to try this place and today was that day! Now days I make it my duty to read the reviews before I come to my own conclusion. I also read how the customers are responded to after offering their opinions, it helps me too understand what type of rebuttal/atmosphere to expect. Being a business owner myself I look for overall quality. The sides were left to be desired!
*The establishment was clean,which is a great thing. 5 stars.
*We have zero complaints about the price point for the food. In today’s economy it’s refreshing to find, “bang for your buck.” This establishment offers that.
*DESSERT- I ordered the heath cheesecake and my wife ordered the 7up cake. They were moist and an overall treat!
*SIDES- I ordered sides as my meal and my wife’s meal came with sides. They were subpar. The mac & cheese tasted like black pepper and eggs. The red beans and rice was left to be desired. It put me in the mind of chili. Popeye’s has better red beans and rice and I despise fastfood establishments. The yams were dry but has great potential. My wife enjoyed her hush puppies. I do not eat them therefore I have zero opinion. My creamy cheese grits were NOT creamy at ALL!
*ENTREES- my wife’s meal contained red snapper fish, fried shrimp, and a roll. The shrimp and fish were fried well and tasted good. I would order those items again.
*CUSTOMER SERVICE – We had a large bill to pay with in which the decided not to accept. Our meal was a little over $60 I’m sure they had the difference in the register. No big deal, Sprouts gave us change. If you do not accept large bills it maybe helpful to inform your customers before hand. A sign in eye sight stating, “exact change or no large bills” would suffice. There was a young lady at the register which may have been new according to another patron. I did not get her name, but she was sweet and polite. The young lady displayed manners, patience and was attentive to the customers ( three customers in total).
Being that I have a sophisticated pallet and after reading how some of the reviewers are met with the type of rebuttals I have read, I expected the wow factor from this establishment. My opinion is mine and mine alone but I wouldn’t travel again for this food.

Today 6/9/25 was my first visit. The atmosphere was very nice with too big TV’s playing 60’s/70’s music (a little loud). I ordered the fish and shrimp combo that comes with two sides, a roll and a few hush puppies. I also ordered the shrimp and grits and peach cobbler. The catfish and shrimp were seasoned perfectly and crispy. The grits were super buttery (that’s how I like em). I cannot recommend the collard greens or yams. The greens are NOT cooked with any meat so that flavor was missing. The yams were cooked well but were not candied or sweet as I’m used to. The peach cobbler crust was very good. I gave 5 stars because the guy who took my order had great customer service. I told him I was dining in and the lady brought my meal out in a bag. I hope to try other sides next time.

My friend and I decided to try this place on a whim, and we’re so glad we did! The service was great, staff were very friendly, and the food was clearly made fresh to order so everything was hot and crispy. The lunch specials are a great value, we left full and still had plenty of leftovers! Thank you, we’ll be back.

It’s hard to find a good fish spot where the fish is fried to perfection, but this place really delivers. The food is very good to me. I don’t know about everyone else, but for me, it’s excellent. It even beats having to drive all the way to Los Angeles just to get good fish, and it’s much closer to home.
I really appreciate how warm and sweet the staff are- they make you feel welcome every time. The service is fast, and my food is always ready on time. I’ve never had a problem here, and I truly enjoy supporting this business.

Wife and I ordered the red snapper and jumbo shrimp combo with fried okra and dinner role. Amazing experience! The food was delicious – snapper crispy on the outside with plenty of seasoning and super tender on the inside. The jumbo shrimp was cooked perfectly! Thank you for the friendly staff. 5 star experience. We will be back with the kiddos

I loved this place so much! We was regulars when they opened. I always order the same dinner plate, grilled salmon with side of greens and yams. My routine was seasoning the salmon and greens at home since they lack some flavor and dig in, food would be enough for 2 whole meals. Went back today after a while. My husbands beans and rice was bad, the greens where bland and the portion sizes are not what they used to be. Unfortunately i don’t think i will be going back.

*Soft Open review* They opened I think last week. As previous ppl have stated the food is well-seasoned and delicious! Everything is cooked to order. Deep frying takes a minute so be patient. I had red snapper, oysters, and shrimp. Individually all of it is fantastic. No wet center, so no soggy seafood, and no heavy oil flavor it was just fried to perfection. The fish was flakey, the shrimps had the perfect snap and the oysters were soft and flavorful. You get two sides I picked mac & cheese and collared greens. The mac had a perfect cheese pull. No rubber textured or plastic-like texture. It’s one of the best Macs I’ve had in a while. The greens go perfectly with the cornbread. I ordered cornbread, red beans and rice on the side. Warning if you think pepper is spicy or sensitive to spicy food the red beans and rice aren’t for you. I loved it and didn’t find it spicy at all but my mother-in-law found it very spicy. I think that comes from the sausage (andouille).
The dessert goes quickly so come early. I will get my hands on peach cobbler one day!! Overall, give this place a chance and enjoy the food.

I tried this place a few months after they first opened & thought everything was too salty. I’m glad I gave them a second chance because I haven’t had any more complaints! I especially love the cajun catfish! Besides just dinner plates, I’ve ordered catering platters on multiple occasions & now my guests love this place too. I don’t eat here all the time (don’t wanna get burnt out) but it’s definitely one of my go-to spots.
Tip: This isn’t a fast-food place. So, if you don’t like waiting, order ahead, cause it’s gonna be at least a 20 minute wait.
