Reviews
The food was also great, the steaks were cooked to exactly how we wished. The chicken was slightly dry but the flavour was there. The appetizers we ordered were great and easy to share with a big group.
The selling point of this restaurant is definitely its location. The food itself was pretty good, maybe slightly above average quality. It’s definitely on the pricier side but I feel you’re also paying for the location.
We ordered quite a few things including the pull apart bread, mussels, octopus, the patatas bravas, stone fruit panzanella and a branzino special. The highlights were the mussels for sure. The coconut broth was rich and comforting, with a side of sourdough to soak it all up. Our server recommended the pull apart bread to dip into the sauce as well which I thought was a great recommendation!
The octopus was my 2nd favourite of the day, but it was a tad overcooked. The stone fruit panzanella was light and refreshing, a good contrast to the rest of the dishes.
On the other hand, the patatas bravas was very, very average. It didn’t taste like much and the sauce drizzled on top made the dish look sloppy. Finally, the branzino special was unfortunately a let down. Nothing about it really stood out, and for $50, it was the least favourite item of the day.
All in all, the location and views do a good amount of the heavy lifting but the food isn’t bad either! I also thought that our server was great, friendly and attentive!
We ordered a variety of dishes, but the standout was definitely the grilled sea bass. It was simply outstanding. Perfectly cooked with a crisp skin and tender flavorful bass. The fish was completely boneless, which was a pleasant surprise. The sauce and garnishes elevated the dish even further, and the presentation was so well done that it looked as good as it tasted. Honestly, it was so addictive that I would come back just for that dish alone!
Service here is another reason this place shines. Our server, Christian, deserves a special shout-out. He is friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to make sure our experience was excellent from start to finish. It is rare to encounter service that feels genuinely thoughtful, and it made the day even more enjoyable.
Yes, Fishbone by the Lake is on the pricier side, but it’s absolutely worth it for the quality you can get. From the freshness of the ingredients, to the upscale presentation, and the relaxed lakeside atmosphere, everything comes together to justify the cost. There is also a good amount of free parking conveniently located across the street, which makes visiting stress-free.
A few quick tips: reservations are a must. This is a popular spot, and with good reason, so book ahead to avoid disappointment. Weather could throw you a curveball in summer time since the venue is basically outdoor with a nice shade.
Between the incredible food, stunning view, and top-notch service, Fishbone by the Lake is a solid 10/10 in my books. Honestly, whether you are celebrating a special occasion or just looking for a place to treat yourself with friends or families, this restaurant will not disappoint.

Friendly customer service
Little expensive ( not worth it)
Nice view but lots of spiders and spider webs on the side. I could count more than 10 spiders across our table. It doesn’t looks like they are keeping it tidy in that aspect. Other than that place looks beautiful and nice.
Free parking available. You can also park in the big parking space across the street.
First off, reservations are definitely a must — the place gets quite busy. The atmosphere is beautiful, especially with the lakeside view, and our server was extremely friendly and welcoming, which we truly appreciated.
However, the food didn’t quite match the price point. The portions were small, and while the quality was decent, it wasn’t anything extraordinary — more normal than “wow.” The plating and presentation were also quite average, which, for the price, we expected to be more impressive.
One of the biggest letdowns was the seating arrangement. We were a group of five and were given two separate tables, even though adding one chair to a table for four would’ve easily solved the issue. We offered to sit that way, but were told it wasn’t possible due to “safety reasons.” Our child is not heavy, and honestly, it felt like an unnecessary lack of flexibility. This part really affected our overall experience.
The reception staff at the entrance also lacked friendliness, which contrasted with the warmth of our server. It would be great to see more customer care and flexibility from the front-of-house team, especially in how they handle group seating.
Overall, it’s a nice place to try once for the view, but manage your expectations.
However, I was pleasantly surprised by the overall quality and atmosphere.
Food was fresh and flavourful while service was good as well. Loved the bread it was delicious.
