We dined at Fish Tales at Garrya Tongsai Bay and overall the food was very good, with some genuinely memorable dishes.
The seafood was the highlight. The seabass two ways and baked red snapper fillet were beautifully cooked — fresh, delicate and full of flavour. The fried vegetable rice was light and well seasoned, and the wine selection was impressive, especially the Cune Reserva Tempranillo which paired perfectly with the fish.
The setting is lovely, exactly what you would expect at Tongsai Bay — relaxed, tropical and very comfortable, making it easy to settle in and enjoy the evening.
Unfortunately, the service was very slow. Although the restaurant was busy, the gaps between courses were far longer than they should have been, disrupting the flow of the meal and leaving us waiting repeatedly.
Fish Tales has all the ingredients to be an excellent restaurant, but until the service improves it falls short of its true potential.

Celebrated my birthday at this oceanside gem with a lively crew of friends, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. As luck would have it, they were hosting a wine dinner that night — the timing couldn’t have been better! Double the flavor, double the fun. The staff were incredibly attentive, the atmosphere was breezy and beautiful right by the water, and the smooth sounds of live jazz added the perfect touch. All in all, an unforgettable night. We’ll definitely be coming back for more.

The food was delicious and the service was excellent. Khun Sakrai provided very attentive and friendly service. The drinks were great, and the beach is beautiful. It’s a perfect place for a relaxing family getaway. I highly recommend this place.

Lunch can be served on sun loungers by the pool or at the restaurant.
Evening Dinner was a lively setting looking over the beach.
The massaman curry and mixed seafood starters were stars of the show though.

The Rose Night Wine Dinner at Fish Tales, the beachfront restaurant at Garrya Tongsai Bay Samui, was an unforgettable evening. We’ve been going out of this hotel every everting in search of fine dining, went to Cliff, to Four Seasons, but at very last evening we stayed at our hotel to eat at Fish Tales and found it much over our expectation, and quite the best of all Thai and sea food places we’ve visited before! Moreover, menu of Evol restaurant which where kindly brought to me at my vegetarian inquire were awesome! Those kinoa sushi without fish was fantastic!
As long as seafood dishes of my friends! So five stars to the Chief and five stars to service team!!!
