The food and drinks are spot on at the Fish Shack. I got the fried oysters for starters and they were perfectly breaded and crispy. Then I got the blackened Mahi Mahi which was one of the fish of the day and it was very tasty. The service was attentive. But they also have the best key lime pie. Highly recommend. Heck, I’d go there just for the pie!

My husband is not a seafood person, but he absolutely loved this place so that says a ton. We took our two and a half year old here at about 8pm, there was a wait but the staff was incredibly accommodating (we were on vacation). I ordered the hot lobster roll for dinner, while it was good I felt that the portion was rather small. Otherwise great, thank you!

The food here is delicious! We got the grilled combo plate that included scallops, shrimp, and Mahi. It also comes with two sides. We both got fries and also the cucumber salad and the carrots. I would have given this place 5 stars but we felt like the quantity of food was on the light side … especially the fries. It comes in a small bowl that was not filled up all the way. For $32 a plate, we just expected a bit more food. The staff was kind. The atmosphere was a classic seafood joint. There is a wait though. Be prepared for that. We waited 20 minutes but when we left there were a lot of people outside and they probably waited longer.

This was my second visit to Fish Shack, and unfortunately the experience fell well below expectations due to service issues that I believe management should be aware of.
Our waitress, Jen, created several problems throughout the meal. When ordering, she asked what temperature we wanted our fish which is something i have never heard asked before for fish, when we asked what she means and we said medium, she reacted as if we were unreasonable for not understanding the question. The fish that arrived was blue in the middle, clearly undercooked.
After being seated, we were not checked on for over 40 minutes. Although we had drinks at the bar beforehand, we were never asked if we wanted beverages at the table. During this time, nearby tables received frequent, friendly attention while we were largely ignored.
One of our dishes was forgotten entirely. When we asked about it, the response was dismissive, and we were made to feel as though we were unreasonable for asking when it would be ready, rather than receiving an apology or clear update.
There was also a hygiene concern: my sister dropped her knife on the floor, and it was picked up without being replaced.
Additionally, when I attempted to ask for something as simple as mayo for the onion rings, we weren’t given the opportunity—there was no check-in about how the food was or whether we needed anything. Instead, attention continued to be directed to other tables.
If the difference in service had anything to do with the fact that we were not drinking alcohol, that is concerning—especially since we were never asked about drinks to begin with. Regardless, service should be consistent for all guests.
When we finally asked about timing, we were told, “It’s coming out—it’s the season and a Friday,” which felt dismissive rather than informative. Especially since she made no effort to check.
We don’t expect perfection, but we do expect basic professionalism, food safety, and respectful communication. The food itself may have potential, but the service issues made this a disappointing visit. I hope management takes this feedback seriously, as this wantnt our first visit and we would like a reason to return.

This was our first time at Fish Shack. The service was exceptional and the fresh fish was delicious! We ended our meal splitting a piece of Key Lime pie and it was one of the best we have had. Highly recommend, and we will be back!!

A small bar and restaurant in a strip mall. How good could it be? Very good. The service was wonderful and the fresh fish was cooked perfectly. My wife had the grouper sandwich and onion rings. I opted for the grouper platter with dill pasta salad and fries. I just wish I wouldn’t have ordered my grouper with the garlic butter. The garlic overpowered the fish. Otherwise a very good experience and I would recommend stopping in.

Great local’s spot at a random strip mall. All of the food was excellent and came out piping hot. Every single item we ate was fresh and delicious, especially the conch fritters and fish and chips. Little awkward with my fish and chips coming out well after everyone’s dishes but the flavor made up for it. Highly recommend, but a little pricey.

This is a Hidden Gem for Fresh Seafood Lovers! We recently went to Fish Shack in Lighthouse Point with a party of eight, and it was hands-down one of the best dining experiences we’ve had in South Florida! From the moment we walked in, we felt right at home. The place has a laid-back, local vibe, but the food is anything but ordinary. We ordered a mix of appetizers to share the conch fritters, smoked fish dip, shrimp scampi and crab cakes were all outstanding and set the tone for the rest of the meal. Every dish we tried was fresh, perfectly cooked, and full of flavor. The grilled mahi, fried shrimp, and blackened grouper sandwiches were amazing — you can really taste how fresh the seafood is. Even with a larger group, the service was quick and friendly, and all the orders came out hot and exactly right. If you’re craving fresh seafood, generous portions, and that authentic Florida fish shack feel, this place is a must-try. We’re already planning our next visit I’d highly recommend!

very busy…but after are first time trying, I understand exactly why!!!! service and food were amazing. Jen was our server and brandy (bartender/manager) came and checked on us and both girls were such sweet hearts. We ordered the coconut shrimp and the award winning chili. loved everything about this restaurant. between the amazing service and food, we will be back so much more! thank you to the fish shack staff.
