This is going to be a difficult review, primarily because the dudes at this place are so nice. The service is phenomenal. But I didn’t come here for the social aspect. My partner and I’s favorite fish spot is in Vallejo. Reason being is after 22 yrs of being in Oakland we still haven’t found a stellar fish place. So today we decided to try something new…give Oakland another chance. This was the place we decided based on the reviews.
The fried snapper was overcooked, old, frozen fish. So dry the fish itself dried up to a little strip within the overly crisp batter. It also carried that old fish smell. Like either they’ve been using the same oil for a minute or the fish is just been thawed for a min.
They provide a side and a corn muffin with the meal. The muffin was dry and processed. I chose the greens as a side and they were o-k. Quite honestly the greens were the best part of the meal. I also come from a long line of Black soul food cooks so standards are high. It seems like this place is trying to cook soul food but it’s missing the soul.
Once again the guys at this place are super cool and just on that I’ve given 2 stars. The ambiance and experience you get once you visit this place is part of the appeal.

Deep in a unique part of Oakland…I think. Super nice folks, great catfish and chicken wings. Out the door for 15 flat. Give this place a try. No tables, stand up and eat!

I don’t know what happened!!! This place used to be the best! It’s new workers or owners because the meal I had yesterday was HORRIBLE! My order wasn’t correct, the chicken was spoiled, the Shrimp was hard! They said they would make it right but at this point I don’t even want it! Never will I eat here again! You will be disappointed! And the customer service sucks!!!!

I bought the oyster combo with DoorDash and I absolutely loved the deep fried oysters. The fried breading was very tasty and the oysters tasted like they were cooked just right.
I chose potato salad for the side, I liked it, however, I do not know if they make it fresh.
The combo also comes with a Shasta brand soda, but cola and lemon lime are the only offered flavors.
I definitely want to order from here again.

A dee fried food pick joint. No real dine in space. No complaints with the food at all. Found out fried oysters is not for me. I would reccomend this spot if youre in he area

I was curious about this place, so I gave it a try. The catfish and fries are really good, but the chickens dry and also smell like butt. I couldn’t even eat it. For sure, will get the catfish and just switch out the chicken with shrimp.

I order two king fest. I was so hungry and ready to setting in and eat. I was so disappointed in the flavor. The food was blend it needed more seasoning. I knew I should of took a bite out of the food before I left. I don’t think I would try this place again.
