Great new spot for seafood! We enjoyed fish bites and blackened grouper over rice. We sat at the bar, where the friendly staff made us feel like old friends. Parking was a challenge- in mid March – so we’re not sure how it will be as summer approaches. Nevertheless we look forward to a return visit and trying more of the enticing food and drink options.

The line here has been 30+ people deep our first two nights on Emerald Isle, NC. Today there was no line so we turned around and stopped in for their seafood and it didn’t disappoint. The Onion Rings were deliciously sweet with thin breading. Our two dishes were Soft Shell Crab and Sea Scallops on a bed of Ceasar Salad and both excellent!

The food and drinks are very tasty, but $8 tacos are still pretty extra. There is always a long line, but usually bar seating open if you want to skip that, plus they will bring you drinks in line. It’s not like there are many taco options on the island, which is why I guess they can get away with charging the same for two street tacos that you’d usually spend for three tacos and sides. The drinks are pretty delicious, though.

If you’re visiting Emerald Isle, Fish Hut Grill should be one of your stops (it’s worth the wait if there’s a line!). With a variety of quick dishes, our party of 6 had delicious options. Service was quick, and the grilled fish tacos and grouper sandwiches were outstanding; both had generous portions of fish. The beach casual atmosphere added to the ambiance. Though we didn’t partake, the mixed drinks leaving the bar looked great too.
Back again in 2025 (twice) and had additional great meals and experiences!

I visited Fish Hut Grill recently and was honestly impressed! The food was absolutely delicious — the fried fish was perfectly crispy and flavorful, the coleslaw was fresh and tasty, and the onion rings were a great touch. The service was surprisingly fast, especially considering how busy it was.
The only downside was the lack of air conditioning. It was quite hot inside, but I understand that it’s part of the beachside, outdoor vibe. Just be prepared for the heat if you’re visiting during a warm day.
Overall, great experience and I would definitely come back. Highly recommend for anyone craving fresh, beachside seafood!

We had fish tacos blackened, shrimp tacos grillled, fish bites blackened and fries. The food was not bad, it tasted fresh, but to be honest a little bland. It had fish with a little sauce that was really good on just shredded raw cabbage. The same for the shrimp tacos. The taste and quality for the price we thought was a little extreme. It was very expensive . These atmosphere was quaint and pleasant. The service was exceptional. We always wanted to give it a try.

All the Fish is excellent, the Cole slaw, beans and cheese curds also great. Relaxed place, but very long lines. However it’s worth every second. They also bring you drinks while you wait in line.

Fish hut Grill is a casual eatery on Emerald Isle that is worth a visit!
Our family ordered a variety of sandwiches including flounder, grouper, oysters, and fish bites. The portions were very generous! We had to break our fish in half so it would fit in the sandwich buns. We also ordered onion rings and french fries as a side. They were all perfectly fried and seasoned. Nothing was oily or greasy.
Make sure to try the blueberry jalapeño margarita! No, it’s not spicy, but you can taste the interesting combination of blueberry and jalapeños.
The only reason I docked a star was because of the very long wait. We stood in line for about 30 minutes, just to place our order. After your order is placed to find a seating and after your seated, you stand in line to pay again. A little inefficient in my opinion, but it wouldn’t keep me away from coming back again and again.
We were able to sit outside with our dogs and they brought us a bowl of water for our dogs which we appreciated very much! I highly recommend the fish hut grill anytime you’re in Emerald Isle.

The whole flounder with fries and salad was AHHH!!! Freaking Amazing. Enough for two or three servings. Everyone on staff was friendly.

First time visiting the area. There was a long line to get in and everyone waiting was talking about how amazing the food was. We were able to order drinks while waiting in line. Once inside, you order at the window and then find a seat (rather than sit down to order) However, they have a nice bar area and you skip the line and can order at the bar if there are seats available. We lucked out and got seats at the bar. Service was excellent and enjoyed chatting with bartender. Food was exceptional and definitely worth all the hype. Total chill and casual atmosphere. Really glad we decided to check it out. Blackened shrimp salad, onion rings and blackened grouper sandwich were all delicious.
