Was staying in the Peoria area this week and wanted to enjoy some good seafood. Chose Fish House because of its rating / reviews and by what was on the menu. I arrived tonight not long after they opened at 16:00. A few other customers were already seated. I sat in the bar area at a table. I was greeted by Paul the bartender. I ordered the Crab Turnovers as my appetizer and grilled Chilean Sea Bass with Au gratin potatoes. I highly recommend everything I ordered. The food was great and the service was top notch. By the time I left it was pretty busy for a Thursday night. Definitely worth the 20 min drive from my hotel. I will be head back to Fish House the next time I am in the area.

Appetizers and salad as trash. The alligator bites were an odd texture and salad was nothing special or even looked nice.
The entrees were better but not the best. Halibut was drowned in cheese and asparagus was bland. Filet mignon was good, but they didn’t cook it medium like I asked, it was underdone. Au gratin was pretty good but portion could have been bigger. Rice pilaf was a bit bland and could have been fresher. The atmosphere needs deep cleaned and updated, I felt like I was back in time. I wasn’t impressed and was told this was one of the “best places in Peoria” which I don’t think is true. Over priced for what you’re getting.

Drinks: mango mojito- very good! Stawberry lemon basin maryini – good. French 75 – decent.
Grouper Oskar – very good.

You’ll need reservations. 530 was crowded.

My party of 5 arrived at our 6:45pm reservation time and were seated promptly. We picked this time so we could eat and make it to a nearby show. We were quickly greeted by our delightful server and she took drink orders and told us about the special. My water was filled frequently. It was busy, as it would be on a Saturday night, and quite loud. We placed our orders when she came back with my wife’s strawberry lemonade. It took quite some time to get the bar drinks. We waited and had fun, watching the clock, and the people behind us close their bill, and were nearly the only table left at about 8:30 when we got our food. Now I’m certain the 2 Canadian lobster tails took more time, but I did see other tables get that and leave before we got our food. My friend got his oysters and was thrilled. I got the Mahi Mahi and my friend the Chilean Sea Bass, both with su gratin potatoes. My wife got crab cakes and a baked potato. Everything was beyond delicious! The au gratin potatoes were everything! Crab cakes fantastic! Go for a bite out! You can go for a couple around $60 before tax if just food but could go sky high if you have drinks and market priced crustaceans. We weren’t finished until after 9pm.

We went to the Fish House to celebrate our 31st anniversary. Our server was Penny. We sat down and did not get waited on for at least 10 minutes. She was too busy catching up with the couple next to us. She finally came and took our drink order. That took another 10+ minutes. We ordered our food and an appetizer. Another 15 minutes and more visiting with the same couple. She brought our appetizer with a snippy attitude and comment. This was about 5:15 to 5:30 and it was not busy yet. Finally got our salad and bread did not arrive until our meal was served. Again more visiting. The food was good but we will not be back. We’ve been here before and had a good experience. Sorry we picked this place to celebrate our special day. We’ve never been treated this way at any restaurant.

If anyone is looking for an outstanding 5 star meal the fish house is the place to go….BAR NONE! Wife and I dined there on Halloween. We both had different fish meals. From the main course to the rolls with butter. Salad…I mean everything they put down in front of you is mouth watering……STUNNING! But you get what you pay for 2 meals no alcohol, tip $130.00. Oh, get rid of the 1970’s decor. Spend money to make money $50,000, wallpaper and some different things!

My husband took me here for our anniversary and its my first time in this place! It was such a great experience I love seafoods! I recommend this place if you’re looking for a seafood restaurant. We love the food taste great!

Service was fantastic! We had Calamari Fritti which was nice and crispy. Main course was Chilean Sea Bass and King Crab legs both perfectly cooked. Cost of meal was around $200
