There are not enough words for this place!!
We stayed at the Luana Waikiki Hotel that the Fish Hook Cafe is connected to. Both businesses were wonderful! The location of the restaurant was not only very convenient for us, but also so much more than we expected. We did try other places since it was our first trip here, but this was definitely our go to for breakfast. Most mornings I had the Breakfast Croissant and my husband had the Fried Rice Plate both were excellent! We stopped in for lunch one day as well and I had a delicious poke bowl and my husband had the Black Bean Chicken that was also very delicious and marinated perfectly.
Besides the food being amazing, the staff was amazing too! Our first morning here we met Ki, he was fantastic and greeted every single person with a smile. We then met John, he was the exact same! They really make an effort to get to know you and why you’re here and remember you. They both gave my husband and I wonderful recommendations for things to do and we tried to do some of their favorite things!
We will not forget the genuine connections made with them and their friendship while on our trip! Thank you both for a great start to every day we had here and thank you to the rest of the staff for creating the most delicious food we had the chance to try!! We hope to be back one day and see you all again!

Gave Fish Hook Cafe and if was tasty lunch under $20 bucks. Staff were helpful and courteous. Space is a bit tight so not ideal for groups of 6 and more. I had the pork belly bowl and the pork was just soft and aromatic ($13.99 I think). Definitely will visit again.

Love this place! The guys that run this kitchen are amazing, the food is great and the service is fun and spectacular! You feel like you are in their home. This is in the bottom of the Luana Waikiki and has a small restaurant area but never feels crowded, just like home. We ate here several times and will be back!

The food here was way better then expected. I had expected meh hotel food and I was very pleasantly surprised that it wasn’t. The food here is yummy. We got the sous vide rib eye, poke sampler and avocado toast 2.0 with lobster. Yum! The owner was there and is super friendly. The poke sampler was awesome.

We’ve found our favorite local breakfast spot! Very small location so if you want to dine in, get there early. Otherwise they do take out as well. Staff is always friendly and quick to help out. Love the unique breakfast selection from omelettes to waffles and rice bowls. Don’t miss out if you’re visiting!

Although small, this cafe had really some special dishes. The location is on the right of the entrance of the Luana Waikiki Hotel as you walk up the stairs from the driveway. Don’t follow the sign on the right side of the hotel that points up the ramp into the side entrance of the lobby since you’ll think that there is no cafe. If you do enter this easy, walk out the front door and the cafe is on the left. Very small cafe with an open kitchen. Unique menu with some Hawaiian specialties. They also have pastries, fresh juices and coffee so stop here for breakfast or lunch. Definitely a hidden gem and worth a stop.

The wait is long, took about 35 minutes to get an omelet to go. I guess this is expected granted that the kitchen consists of like 2 people and an electric griddle. My advice would be to peek in and if it seems crowded have a backup plan, unless you don’t mind waiting.
Very tight area, likely won’t be able to get a seat.
With that being said the food was pretty good. I got an omelet and it was definitely better than the one I got at Eggs N Things. Good breakfast around here has seemed to be tougher to come by than I thought. Overall I’d say my experience here was 3.5 stars but I’ll round up.
