Love how herbaceous the food is. Highly recommend the steamed fish and the pork cheeks. Easy to get a reservation on a sun afternoon it wasn’t too crowded. They have really unique mocktails and beverages. The whole fish dishes are really tender and I like that they debone it for you

Had a fabulous lunch at Fish Cheeks-Brooklyn the week of Thanksgiving. First time there and had heard such good things about it. Appetizers sampled were Zabb Wings, Corn Salad and my favorite, the Mussel Gorlae. Best of all, the Tom Yum Soup, so flavorful and very generous portion of seafood. Staff were attentive but didn’t hover. Food service was not rushed and at perfect temperature. Will be back.

So delicious!! We tried the coconut crab curry, scallops, oysters, corn salad and whole fried fish. The fish was perfectly crispy and the curry / scallops were incredibly flavorful. I would highly recommend!

Also the dessert pandan ice cream over sticky rice was 10/10

Bit small inside so you most likely will wait but the food will make you forget that hour real quick. As a rule i try not to order branzino on a menu since I’ve been chasing the most amazing one ive ever(RIP mhzh) had for years to all fail..but..fishcheeks broke the curse! It was a steamed whole branzino with a broth and such heightened flavors. Recommend highly. Crab curry was good but small imo for the price and could have used more crab but i liked the spice level. Nice n hawt. The chicken wings get an honorable mention as well but deserve a lil dipping sauce. Our server at the bar was so attentive and helpful and put up with all our questions as foodies. Top notch service and food

I went with my partner. We started with just 3 oysters, then got the crab curry, prawn karee, crab aob woonsen. I first off wanted to say that the service was great and I did not make the staff aware of my complaints— they were lovely. While the flavor of oysters tasted good, they were TINY. I felt like I was eating sauce and shallots with a side of oyster. Crab curry is pretty good, generous portions of crab, nothing to write home about but I was happy with it. Prawn koree was so so so salty and also doesn’t come with rice. We had to order rice just to make it edible. When the dish cooled down towards the end of our meal, it started tasting even saltier to the point I just gave up eating it. The crab aob woonsen was my favorite. Also had healthy portions of crab. I don’t see many people reviewing this dish, but definitely give it a try if you come. Everything is on the salty side tho, so don’t come if you have hypertension lol

also ik these are low qual pics and im missing a dish. didn’t plan on posting before digging in

Fish cheeks food never disappoints!!! The whole steamed fish, the crab fried rice and the corn salad are my must orders. And I was so in love with their BK only raw marinated crab! The service was so amazing as usual!

LOOOOVED fish cheeks! Anissa is the sweetest, most fun server, the food was incredible, and she brought over a gluten free menu right away when I said I was celiac! There were so many delicious GF options! We got the coconut crab curry, green curry, pork crispy rice, and the rainbow trout!! Everything blew my mind. Need to go back. Plus my drink came in a gorgeous ceramic fish.

The place is amazing, one of the best dinner I had in 2025. Here is what I had:

Mussel Gorlae – grilled mussel on the skewer, topped with tasty curry sauce and crispy shallots. The flavor is vivid an intense, exactly type of food I love

Beef Kaprow – 30 days dry aged beef, with basil, scallion and peppers, the mix of spice, sweet aroma and peppery makes this dish my favorite. It is very spicy so prepare yourself before tasting it. The duck egg tastes delicious as well.

Coconut Crab Curry – the star dish, spicy curry sauce with Snow White crab meat, topped with sweet coconut milk, it’s just a perfect dish.

Before 6 pm it is happy hour, try the Thai beer and their amazing cocktail.

Fish Cheeks never disappoints! Every dish was packed with bold Thai flavors. The tom yum hot pot was incredible, the mackerel is so fresh and crispy, and the marinated crab had the perfect kick. The drinks were beautiful and refreshing too! The vibe was lively but cozy, and the staff were super friendly. Easily one of my favorite spots in NYC for Thai food!

I hate having to write this review because Fish Cheeks has long been one of my favorite Thai restaurants in NYC. I’ve been to the Manhattan location many times and was excited when they opened a Brooklyn outpost. Unfortunately, my recent takeout experience was extremely disappointing.

I ordered the Zabb Wings, Crab Fried Rice, and Pak Boong Fai Dang for my mom and me. After about a 20-minute wait, I brought the food home—only for the bag to completely rip open as I took it out of my car. Liquid had leaked from the Pak Boong Fai Dang’s cardboard container, soaking the bag until it tore, sending all the food onto my garage floor. What was most frustrating is that the fried rice was packed in a sturdier container, so it was unclear why such a watery dish wasn’t packaged more securely.

When I called the restaurant, the manager was unphased and told me I’d have to drive back for replacements. With few options left, I did—but after waiting again and driving home, I discovered the replacement wings were half the original portion and badly overcooked, with almost no meat. My mom couldn’t even finish one.

I’m really saddened by this experience because I know how good Fish Cheeks can be when care is taken. Instead, I paid for food that ended up inedible, dealt with indifferent customer service, and didn’t eat until nearly two hours after placing my order.
