I asked a local Philly chef his favorite places in Belgium, & Fish A’Gogo was at the top of his list. I was so pleasantly surprised with how close it was (literally within view) of Cathedral of Our Lady. The menu was simple but everything was of the highest quality. The vibes… I can’t even stress how lovely. It’s a small place, limited tables outside, but I was traveling solo so it worked out perfectly. Staff were all so nice. It just felt like the perfect quintessential travel stop.

It is so good! Very fresh and tasty. The clam is even more tasty than the mussels! Nice little high bench seating outside, but there is also an upstairs. The boss isn’t anything like what he claims to be: “cheap” haha. Staff is very friendly and attentive. Must try if you happen to be in Antwerp.

Yes, I did the same what you do right now and yes, after reading the reviews, I visited Fish A’Gogo with my family. As the restaurant has a menu with just a few dishes, I think we pretty much ordered 80% of the dishes as we were with 4 persons. Every single dish we had, was just fantastic and so delicious. Definitely would recommend the sardinee, the North Sea shrimps amd their fish soup.
Service is excellent and they were all very friendly. The cook even asked if we wanted the mussels without the white wine as we don’t drink alcohol without us even asking. The waitress was also very helpful and friendly.
The atmosphere is good, just a few seats upstairs so it ain’t that crowded.
I would definitely recommend this place if you happen to be in town and consider to eat fish.

We had a chance to visit this place in Jan 2026. we ordered 6 pieces of oysters and 2 glasses of champagne. Oysters were so fresh and delicious, we ended up ordering it again). The ladder is a bit stiff and narrow, but the Ambiente is very authentic feeling. Definitely recommend!
