First Watch in Oro Valley sits in the Rooney Ranch Shopping Center, and it ended up being a great breakfast spot for an early meet-up with friends. Everything we ordered hit the spot. Their original iced coffee was legit one of the highlights. For my main dish, I went with the elevated egg sandwich and upgraded to the million dollar bacon. Totally worth it. The seasoned country potatoes on the side were solid too.

Service was a big standout. Our server, Colton, was fantastic. He checked in at the right times, kept a smile on his face, and had this upbeat, friendly vibe that made the meal even better. Honestly, he deserves a raise. The hosts up front were great as well and set a good tone from the start.

The ambiance was quiet enough for normal conversation, which I appreciated. Parking was easy with a dedicated lot that had plenty of space.

Overall, a really nice spot for breakfast or lunch. I’d definitely come back.

You get exactly what you signed up for. Pretty decent food, with healthy enough options.

Solid service, casual vibes and beautiful mountain views.

It was hopping at 10:30 am on a Sunday. We waited for 20 mins.

We were given a 10 to 15 minute wait time which is expected given the popularity of this place. Since there aren’t any seats on a waiting area we sat outside on the bench. When we checked our pager it had gone off exactly 90 seconds ago. We immediately went in and the hostess said that our table was being cleaned. We expressed our beeper went of 90 seconds ago and should already have a table ready. She expressed “You didn’t answer so we gave it away”. If they called out our name they didn’t do out on the patio. What really gets me is that she then called for a party of two, a party of three and then another party of two, people have shown up well after we did, as we stood there “waiting for our table to get cleaned”. The hostess would not make eye contact with us and continued to ignore us. I normally would have walked out but was with a friend and did not chose to do that.
We waited another 10 minutes to have water brought to us and our order taken, it then took another 25 minutes for the meal to come out. I had an hour and forty five minutes alloted for a nice sit down lunch with a friend before having to go back to work. I had to eat rather quickly in order to leave in time.
The meals were tasty but expensive and with the sour taste in my mouth of being blatantly ignored I will not be going back nor will I refer anyone else to go eat there.

We had a really good breakfast at First Watch early Sunday morning. My husband and I both ordered the Trifecta, and everything was cooked just as we ordered. The Banana Granola Pancakes were absolutely delicious—I’m not sure what they put in them, but they were amazing!

The service was excellent from start to finish. The hostess even opened the door for us when we arrived, which was such a nice touch. The entire staff was friendly and attentive, making our experience even better.

Highly recommend this location for a great breakfast and fantastic service! We’ll definitely be back.

We really enjoy this place. We always bring our out of town guests. We love the different flavors that you provide. I’m a pretty good cook but I come here for that chef experience!!! I had a braised beef hash in a wine gravy and would love for you to bring it back. This time I had the elote breakfast burrito and it was amazing!!!

Stopped in at First Watch and tried the Honey Chipotle Hash off the seasonal menu—absolutely incredible. The potatoes were perfectly crisp, eggs cooked over medium just right, and the combination of pickled onion with avocado made for a perfect balance of flavors. Also ordered a kids waffle and sausage on the side, and the waffle was fluffy with just the right amount of crisp on the outside. Even the coffee stood out—rich and smooth. Everything from start to finish was spot on. ★★★★★

Spent a week in Oro Valley and ate breakfast here twice. Both times, we
We’re beyond pleased by our food. Between the wonderful omelet, the classic breakfast, the biscuit and gravy meal, or french toast special, every meal was tasty, with portions being more than adequate. The service was good and the ambiance is just fun with a classic country vibe. Prices aren’t cheap but I don’t mind paying for quality food.

Surprising – I was pleasantly happy with the overall vibe, the business, and the menu that included so many options. They even have a communal table that seats 6 people if you don’t want to wait for your own table. How few restaurants even think of this? Starbucks, to their credit, does, however I cannot think of any full-on restaurant that does. I sat down instantly and met the two diners who were already sitting there. Community! Outstanding First Watch!

EDIT: July.10.2024

Just ate at the Watch for my 2nd time and was equally impressed by their ability to field so many hungry breakfast diners and still maintain their high level of quality. You just don’t find restaurants like this anywhere! Who is the driving force behind this place? I’d love to meet you and shake your hand (hands). Why are there so few breakfast restaurants anymore other than dying chains?
