When I politely asked the host about sitting in a booth, I was denied in a very snobby tone and told it was “COMMON COURTESY,” as if I was somehow being rude just for asking. The way it was said felt very dismissive and disrespectful.
After leaving, I called the restaurant hoping to speak with a manager to calmly explain what happened. The person who answered the phone sounded like the same host. When I asked for a manager, I heard what sounded like a smirk or laugh, and then the call was hung up on.
I called back again, and this time someone claiming to be the manager answered. After explaining the situation and even sharing that I was already dealing with some personal mental stress, there was little to no empathy. Instead, the conversation quickly became argumentative. The tone became loud and aggressive, and I was ultimately hung up on again.
I’ve been coming to this place for years with family, friends, and sometimes by myself, but today’s experience ended that streak. No one expects perfection, but basic respect and kindness should always be part of customer service.
After leaving, I prayed, still hungry and honestly a bit confused by how I was treated. Thankfully I ended up trying another breakfast spot nearby called Wooden Spoon (1st time too) the hosts welcomed me warmly, sat me without hesitation, and treated me like a human being. The food and coffee were a treat after what I just experienced, but more importantly the hospitality reminded me that genuine kindness still exists.
FYI, I work in customer service myself. I know firsthand how important it is to treat people with dignity. Customers aren’t just transaction, they’re human beings first.
A brand isn’t made by its name alone! It’s built by the character of the people who represent it and the experiences they create for others. Unfortunately, based on today’s experience, I can’t recommend this company anymore. Don’t let anyone bring you down even if they gang up on you! You mean something and are important regardless if their mannerism is lousy.
I’m celebrating my bachelorette weekend, and this was the perfect way to kick things off. I had the blueberry pancakes, eggs, and chicken apple sausage and everything was really good. The pancakes were fluffy, the eggs were just right, and the sausage had a nice flavor.
Service was great, everyone was friendly and on top of things. The coffee was hot and tasty and they kept it coming.
Overall it was such a nice experience. Big thanks to John and the team for starting my day off right!
We were full for the day. Our waitress Janessa was soooo attentive, and knowledgeable. You must try the purple haze juice
