I’m writing this in my precaffeinated state…. So I’m going to take it by the numbers real basic.

Walking in the door my first impression is:
1. Wow
2. this place is well organized and well run
3. The local sheriffs in line with me are a good indication That this place has good food
4. It has ambiance and presence (they’re not the same)
5. The atmosphere is bright, soulful and hopeful – With nice music in the background.
6. The place is big and spacious. I counted it to seat over 140 folks.
7. The prices are decent. $14 for a full breakfast Not including coffee.
8. The menu is a little foo-foo but does contain some normal food.
9. Beef burgers are noticeably missing from the lunch menu. They do have Turkey and veggie burgers.. Which makes the beef omission even more glaring.
9. The kale tonic sounds scary – Of course that’s my opinion and I did not try it.

My impressions after spending some time here are:
1. The food is very good. It tastes both clean and flavorful.
2. The portions are plentiful. Almost enough to feed a teenager…. My ham and cheese omelet contains more ham than egg… I never see that. The ham is shredded and very tasty.
12. The staff is genuinely friendly and upbeat which adds to the ambiance.
13. $4 gets you Unlimited coffee refills plus a large to go cup When you’re done… They offered that without Me asking.

Overall this was a great experience and I would do it again. I recommend the same for you.

My chief complaint- I didn’t know about this place!
Tired of greasy, flavorless, bland breakfast? Overpriced specialty coffee shops?
Here’s the solution: First Watch

Environment: Pull up to ample free parking in a clean lot facing lots of windows of a bright restaurant. Step in and immediately smell the soft scent of coffee. Seating is spread out, not crowded, with an assortment of tables, stools, booths. This restaurant was bright and more importantly exceptionally clean.

Service: Our service was provided by an attentive and pleasant young woman named Isabella.
You know when you visit a restaurant and the service is lacking? Too long before checking on you? Not looking at you or acknowledging you? Or the other option, aggressively pushing for orders, additions, and visiting every 3 minutes?
We had none of that – service was perfectly timed, highly professional, and friendly.
I love the small touches as well – a bottle of cold water and small pot of coffee for the table ♡

Food: Being our first visit, we took time to peruse a regular and a seasonal menu.
Drink variety included adult cocktails and a nice selection of hot/cold coffees as well as milk and juices.
Food selection was a pleasant mix of healthy and comfort food options.

Quality: Everything was exactly as we hoped. Biscuit was light and flavorful, gravy was creamy, French toast was firm and sweet, egg was cooked as requested, toasted sandwich bread had just that right bit of crunch, and potatoes were tender without that diner grease dripping off them!

Overall: I don’t give 5 stars because there is always room for improvement. I didn’t see it here. We are putting this at the top of go-to local spots for repeat visits!

Everything about my first experience here was top tier, the food was phenomenal, not what I would consider, ordinary for a brunch only type of restaurant. The server Devon was amazing, prompt, friendly, respectful, and energetic. Lemon ricotta pancakes (make sure you add their warm 100% maple syrup!), fresh fruits, potatoes, hardwood-smoked bacon. Take time and enjoy yourself with a perfect start to your day! Its worth it, I promise.

Very clean and friendly staff who gave us recommendations and explained the food well. We got the chorizo omelet, and the maple bacon croissant sandwhich. I decided to get it without the jam and pickled jalapeños may have lost some flavor points by excluding but the sandwhich was still really awesome I would say the weak point of both our dishes were the onions being so thin they burned by the time the potatoes were cooked maybe if the onions were a little thicker they could avoid the burnt carbon taste. Other than that awesome establishment!

It seems to be some very good restaurants in the Virginia area. This place was one of them. Great breakfast! Pancakes are huge! You may just need one! Great taste. Omelette and home fries good as well. Our server Ray was great. Cheerful and informative. She did say the pancakes were bigger than her head. She was right! Great for a good appetite. Nice place, busy but very organized and clean. Will return!

My husband had the eggs Benedict and didn’t care for it. The Hollandaise sauce was very lemony potatoes dry
The avocado toast and eggs was absolutely delicious. We will definitely come again, but my husband will order something else to try. This was definitely not his favorite meal but definitely give the restaurant a try our waitress. Katie was spectacular. Super friendly and helpful with everything
