Food was rubbery, barely any alfredo and had no flavor and chicken wasn’t even cut. Garlic bread was burnt beyond edible. Side of garlic noodles had no flavor what so ever and were hard to eat.

Called and they really didn’t seem to care.

I didn’t have the pleasure of tasting their food however, I was booked by a client to decorate one of their private rooms to celebrate a pastoral anniversary and the hostesses were very kind and accommodating. The setup was great and everyone had a great time. They were even patient with the pick up time. The ambiance was beautiful, and the staff was very kind. Hopefully I will be able to visit another time and try the food.

So this review is about now than just tonight… While we refer to the food as “old people food” that usually comes neither hot or cold, with either too much salt or too little… where the service is always a waiting game and it is so dark inside you have to use the flashlight on your phone to read the menu… it can be “nostalgic” at times giving it some stars for that.

Tonight deserved no stars. Arriving, we paused at the host station, where someone was, before noticing that it said to seat ourselves. Being two people, we aimed for one of the nearby 3- seat tables away from the cluster of full booths. Give them and us space. Before we even got to the table, one of the wait staff asked “Can I help you? ” in a very accusatory fashion. We said that it said to seat ourselves. Without another word she went to verify this fact. Walking back to us and seeing she seemed upset I asked if we had done something wrong. She replied “someone didn’t flip the sign. I’m going to see whose turn it is” and she left us menus. I heard her shout the question to the back as she rounded the wall. Another person came out for the drink order and my mom asked for unsweetened iced tea, before even finishing with no lemon she was cut off and told that she thinks they may be out and what would she want instead. Mind you, it’s only around 5:15, just the start of dinner – brew more tea! My mom said water, being a diabetic there really was nothing else, to which the wait staff literally made a disgusted face and audibly scoffed. I said my drink, but at this point we both felt very uncomfortable. We decided that we obviously weren’t welcome this evening and decided to leave. We pushed in our chairs and took our menus to the front and let the wait staff know we were leaving. Our wait staff was right there chatting with someone and picking at something. My mom said that they could forget the drinks and that we wouldn’t be staying. “What, why? ” came out faster than the service ever is, and with twice the attitude. “We don’t feel welcome to stay. ” and we walked out the door to whispers behind us. Not sure what was said, but this is what happened tonight and why we won’t be back for a while. We ended up going to Red Lobster where we also haven’t been in a while. They are under new management and are doing great! Long live the CBB!

Also… It was funny to me that the wast staff recognized us from the drink order and said they were going to be “right back” with them because we recognized them as well, knew we had plenty of time before that would happen and they are part of the reason we haven’t been back in a while!

I’ve been coming to this restaurant for over 40 years. although I miss Gloria my favorite hostess and was really surprised that the present day hostess was so disconnected The food is still amazing as always!

The fried lake perch was excellent. Lightly breaded and cooked perfectly. The lasagna was very heavy on the mozzarella, the Italian sausage in the lasagna was tasty. I never found any hard boiled eggs. The reason for a three star was because the lasagne was barely warm.

The food was good and the staff was so friendly, very old school place. The prime rib/lobster combo was delicious and plan to go back soon. There are VERY few seafood option in Kenosha and this is one of them

Sometimes an institution doesn’t advance because it relies on it’s past.

Loved this place! Atmosphere was relaxing, and slightly dimmed lighting. Waitress was friendly and attentive. The food was amazing! Cooked to perfection and just the right amount. Prices reflected the quality of food.
