We got there about 5:15 and our reservations were at 7:15 so we went downstairs to enjoy and check that out. Our table ended up being available about 25 minutes sooner which was ok since we were about ready to enjoy the main course.
We went on a Friday night and it was busy. I would recommend calling ahead to make reservations, again given the size. Staff were all friendly and helpful.
For drinks I tried Lime in the coconut and if you like coconut I would recommend it. It was tasty.
For starters we had prosciutto flatbread and it was fantastic. Highly recommend.
Dinner I had the roasted chicken with mashed potatoes. It was good overall. I wish the potatoes had been a creamer consistency. They were dense. My boyfriend ordered the steak with chimichurri and steak fries. This was also okay. The steak came out an under medium rare, and the fries were good. The chimichurri itself was very garlic forward and overpowered the steak.
We would go back and try other things next time.
We started with the crab cake appetizer. It was okay and came out room temp, which made it kind of underwhelming.
Husband ordered the stuffed sweet potato entrée which was actually really good, probably the HIGHLIGHT of the meal.
I had the pork tomahawk cooked medium, but it was tough and totally lacking in flavor. I only managed two bites.
We ordered a Glenfiddich 12 neat, which is usually a solid choice, but it felt overpriced for the location.
Our server was very kind and attentive, which made the experience better.
After dinner, we found the speakeasy downstairs and that was definitely the best part of the night. Took us about 10 minutes to find the hidden doorbell (kind of like an escape room), but once inside, the vibe was amazing. The bartender was great, and we enjoyed a double poor of Wooven Honor neat and an Irish whiskey flight .
Overall, Fireside has a lot going for it with the ambiance and speakeasy, but the food and drink pricing could use some improvement.

Absolutely Amazing Experience at Fireside Kitchen! From the moment we walked into Fireside Kitchen, we knew we were in for something special. The warm, cozy atmosphere made us feel right at home, and the service was truly top-tier.
Our waitress, Diamond, was a total gem—no pun intended! She was friendly, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. She made excellent recommendations and ensured we had everything we needed throughout the evening. You can tell she really cares about her guests’ experience.
The drinks were another highlight of the night. The bartender crafted one of the best Old Fashions I’ve ever had—perfectly balanced, smooth, and just the right amount of flair. It’s clear they take their cocktails seriously here.
And the food? Absolutely delicious. Every dish we tried was full of flavor, beautifully presented, and cooked to perfection. From appetizers to dessert, not a single note was missed.
Fireside Kitchen is a must-visit. We’ll definitely be back—and asking for Diamond again!
The service was truly second to none. The staff was attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to make sure our experience was perfect. We felt genuinely welcomed and well taken care of the entire time.
If you’re in Clarkston and looking for a top-tier dining experience, Fireside Kitchen is a must. Five stars all the way!
We got the Peach and Proscuitto flatbread as our appetizer. It was really good. Would have liked to have tasted the peach and proscuitto a little more. The arugala on top was nice. The bread itself was really nice.
For an entree, I got the Halibut. It came with miso mushrooms and sauteed kale. It was really good! Highly recommend it. Everything was seasoned perfectly.
My husband got the hanger steak and fries. He got his cooked medium rare (more on the rare side). It was cooked to his liking, but it could have been seasoned better. Even I had a taste of it and I couldn’t taste any seasoning, just the grilled. The chimichurri sauce that came with it was okay. My husband said that it needed more acid and could have used to sit for a few more minutes because the garlic was too strong (and this is coming from my husband who loves garlic). The fries could have used some salt and could have been a bit more crispier, as a nice external crunch is nice on a good fry. He asked for some lime and salt for his food. It did make things better after he added them. We shared our opinions with our waitress, who told us that the chefs take suggestions to heart. So that is good.
We were going to get dessert, but I was quite full. Maybe next time.
The portions were perfect, and neither of us had any leftovers (as it should be).
We found out that they have only been open for about six months, and they just recently changed their menu to their fall menu. If you are on their website, and you don’t see the halibut, then they haven’t switched over the menu on the site yet.
