We went to kill time and get some food. The cheese curds were amazing, homemade chunks. Not the normal bar food. The burgers were amazing. Service was superb Brian killed it answering all our questions. Will definitely be back when I’m in Altoona.

The atmosphere was great! Small cute little diner. Out waitress was one top of it all! Had the grilled chicken salad with lemon and it was amazing! The hot beef was my husband and daughters choice and enjoyed it but the beef was way to rubbery. Will come back sometime and try other things!

We hold a networking meeting here early Thursday mornings. Owner Brett M. goes out of his way to keep our weekly breakfast buffet delicious. I also drop in this neighborhood restaurant-happy hour- know everyone there hot spot. Great happy hours. Wonderful special nights and lunches. Steak night is $9.99 on Mondays. Pasta special on Tuesdays. Trivia and karaoke nights. Great local family and friends hangout. Absolutely wonderful place to go to hangout or pick up a quick bite. This place covers all the bases. The staff really cares about where they work and are always improving customer wishes. The servers, bartenders, kitchen, chef and dishwasher L5 completely kick butt here. Do not miss and make it part of your week. If home alone, get up there and make new friends.

We enjoyed every bit. Our server was Audrey B. She knocked it out of the park! She was amazing! She answered all our questions. The food was fresh and hot. I had the Beef Taco Salad, hunny had the cheeseburger wrap. Lil miss had Mac & Cheese with fries. Lil man had Grilled Cheese with Cottage Cheese. In the copper cup was a drink called the “Mule”. The copper cup was ice cold to the touch. The drink was delicious. Would recommend it. It was worth the walk.

Terrible Experience – Never Again
The moment I walked in, I was hit with a horrible smell—a mix of sewer, mildew, and something sour. It was so bad I almost turned around, and I should have.
I ordered the “Italian Nachos,” which turned out to be nothing more than tortilla chips with spaghetti sauce and half melted cheese and 3 pepperonis completely thrown together with no effort. Then came the steak sandwich, which was so thin, dry, and tough it looked like beef jerky. I took one bite and sent it away immediately. It wasn’t even worth trying to eat.
Between the awful food and the unbearable smell, I couldn’t get out of there fast enough. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

Fireside is my favorite place to eat in Altoona! The food is always great and love the sports bar atmosphere. I’ve used them to cater multiple events, as well, which has been top notch!

Great local, non-chain locally owned. I have come back to this great local place for: pleasure, in between ball games, and business lunches. The food, service, catering for customer event’s and good watering hole. Go Birds!…

First time here in awhile and will only be back for the cheeseburger soup. The tenderloin was definitely frozen before hand. Definitely not the same as it used to be. Called in an order and was told 20 minutes and I arrived accordingly. There was just a few people in the restaurant. The lady behind the bar was very rude. Barely said much to me. The fries were cold. And the lava cake had no lava. Definitely another previously frozen item. I understand keeping costs down during these covid times but come on!!
