Reviews
The subs come out hot, fresh, and stacked with flavor. You can tell they don’t cut corners — the bread is always soft, the ingredients taste high‑quality, and the portions are generous. Whether it’s a classic Hook & Ladder or something fully loaded from the specialty menu, everything hits the mark.
It’s the kind of place that makes you glad to support a business that takes pride in what they do. South Lakeland has a lot of food options, but Firehouse Subs stands out for delivering great service and great food every single time.
Highly recommend this location if you want a reliably excellent sub experience.
The Lineup:
• Wawa’s Gobbler
• Arby’s Gobbler (Seriously, two “Gobblers”?)
• The Publix Turkey Cranberry Holiday Sub
• The Thanksgiving Turkey Sub from Firehouse
The Verdict:
We ate them all. And honestly, the first three tasted exactly like what they were: turkey, some stuffing, and maybe cranberry sauce, all hanging out awkwardly on bread. They were okay, but they definitely tasted like the ingredients listed on the menu.
But the Firehouse sandwich? That one hit different. It didn’t taste like ingredients. It tasted like Thanksgiving. It was the real deal.
P.S. Don’t mess around. If you get the Firehouse one, GET THE GRAVY!

Was given a large sandwich cut in half (2 large pieces) and asked to cut into 4 ❌…when I asked the blondde lady behind the counter if she could cut it into 4, she gave me a plastic knife and told me to do it myself. great customer service because cutting a sandwich that full is so easy to do with a plastic knife.
I am writing to express my concerns following a recent dining experience at your establishment on (05/15//2025). While I enjoyed spending time with my friend, several aspects of our visit fell significantly short of expectations.
The most concerning issue was the apparent lack of hygiene standards in the kitchen. I observed several instances that raised serious questions about food safety. Specifically, I noticed a tea dispenser uncovered and attracting insects, which were observed landing inside the dispenser. Further, I witnessed an employee wiping his nose without washing his hands before resuming food preparation. Finally, I saw another employee return from the restroom without washing their hands before returning to work.
These observations left me deeply troubled about the potential for cross-contamination and the overall cleanliness of your kitchen. While our server was pleasant and the food itself was acceptable, the observed hygiene lapses overshadowed the positive aspects of our visit. These are not minor infractions; they represent significant health and safety risks.
I urge you to review your hygiene practices and staff training with immediate effect. Maintaining strict standards of cleanliness is paramount in a food service environment. I hope you will take my concerns seriously and address these issues to prevent similar incidents in the future. I look forward to hearing from you regarding the steps you will take to improve your hygiene protocols and ensure customer safety.
Sincerely,
Tamika Sanders-Moore
