We ordered 2 subs on February 20th 2026. My husband ordered the smoked beef brisket and cheddar with BBQ sauce and I ordered the firehouse steak and cheese and neither of them had cheese on them. And it took 3 people to make them and still messed up the subs. They should do a better job than they do.

I ordered a medium NY steamer and a large order of fries. The sandwich .had no pastrami, mustard or italian dressing. Now I would’ve ordered the large sub but I wanted to try the fries. I get a phone call that the fry machine is down and offered me a 1$ cookie or 2$ brownie to replace my 5$ fries. Then the sub is the size of a hot dog bun. Which would’ve been great had i received my fries.

Not a very friendly person working the order taking station today. The food has almost always been very good but the Macclenny store beats Lake City hands down in every category!! The tables needed wiped off and all but one was empty. Overall good place for tasty food but employees could be friendlier!

So disappointing. The food was okay, but the tables and floors were dirty. (There may have been three or four of us sitting in the dining area.) The tables and chairs are past their prime. The sweet tea wasn’t at all sweet. The drink area was a mess. The staff wasn’t particularly friendly.
The men’s room was relatively clean, but there was no TP. It has one of those commercial dispensers that holds two very large rolls. Either they had a crowd of guys with serious GI issues, or they haven’t checked the dispenser in days
Firehouse is generally a good place to go. It’s sad to see this location dragging down the entire chain.

I just found a new favorite. Firehouse Subs beats Subway, hands down!!! No comparison! I had a Club sub. My husband had an Italian. We both agree. Better tasting meats, better bread, better service!! Friendly, polite service. Place even smells clean!! And they were cleaning tables and floors when I arrived. We took advantage of the Veterans Day special where a Veteran can buy 1 sub, get one free. So the price was right, too.

Girl handling food and electrical cords, boxes with the same gloves on 2nd Pic is what I paid for. No green peppers, and soggy bread because she had to heat my sandwich twice, because equipment wasn’t working. You live n learn. I’ve learned that they’re just as bad as subway. Typical tasty Firehouse Subs quality food. This establishment was so-so clean but not super organized– it looked like they were in the middle of doing a couple projects at once — restocking various types of soft drinks with half unpacked cartons taking up several of the table tops. Not just one– it was as if all the employees were doing multiple unpackings, and then they ALL stopped mid-project and left it there — or one person began unpacking, got distracted and then began unpacking something else leaving the first project out and unfinished, and then started a third thing and got interrupted and didn’t finish that. The staff were pleasant, courteous and friendly but VERY SLOW. Half seemed happy to be there (the friendly pleasant courteous ones) and half seemed like they wished they were somewhere else, even if they still acted professionally toward the customer and did their job – it seemed like they were personally miserable and forced. Again, the service is slow, but good food.
