Located on the corner of University and Stirling, this Firehouse Subs is generally pretty consistent. We ordered ahead in the app and it said it would be ready at 6:20. Was ready about 5 minutes earlier so that was nice. It’s always kind of empty in there but somehow they have been in this plaza for a long time. It took a while for either of the employees to acknowledge me being there but I guess cause they were both busy making sandwiches.
The sandwiches last night were fine but nothing special. Order was accurate and they remembered the pickle which other locations usually forget. The bread was just toasty at the front and back end of the sandwich rather than all throughout. I can’t tell if they put less meat on than they have in the past but seemed like maybe so. Overall I will return when I’m in the mood for a hot sandwich and in the area.

I’ve been ordering from this location for a few years and never had an issue. But something has changed. The last few times I ordered on-line were horrible. They’ve gotten the orders wrong each time and I had to go back to get it fixed. On one order my wife ordered a turkey sub with all sorts of toppings. All they did was put turkey on bread with nothing else. WTH? On other orders they’ve left out various ingredients and toppings. Don’t know if it’s the management or the training but I’ve given up on this location.

Absolutely Zero customer service from walking in the sandwich shop the sandwich maker looked pissed off on 12/16 at 11 am I mean nobody in the restaurant walked up to him and the guy was so cold and looked as if I was bothering him true !! Asked about there Philly sub as I have family and friends who order this a lot so I inquired not sure he even understood me but said nothing just a pissed off look is this the new work force or you get what you pay for ?? Ownership needs to be more visible the restaurant looked closed chairs were still on the tables looked as if I was bothering him, I’m sure the other locations are different or this is a franchise regardless will NOT go back show pride in your location I mean really went to Jersey Mikes up the street woe awesome on every count greetings by 2 of 3 employees great Philly made to order with a smile as they customize your sub that’s how it’s done .. hire friendly faces they represent your company they will make or break you !!

Very disappointing experience. Your posted hours clearly state that you are open until 10:00 PM, but when I arrived at 9:36 PM, I was told the restaurant was already closed.
If the store plans to close earlier, the signage should be updated accordingly. It is frustrating to make the effort to arrive before the stated closing time only to be turned away.
This feels misleading and shows a lack of respect for customers’ time. I expected better from a well-known brand like Firehouse Subs.

The young lady at the counter who’s gotten to know me is absolutely awesome — she’s the main reason I keep coming back! My order is always ready ahead of time and always correct. She makes a fantastic salad, and honestly, Firehouse has the competition beat when it comes to salads. Keep up the great work — you’ve definitely earned a loyal customer!

Update: The issue mentioned below has been resolved, but unfortunately, I had to contact The Firehouse Subs corporate office to voice my complaint. It was then taken care of in very short order. The owner of the store that I had the issue with refused to honor the Veteran’s discount. I emailed him a direct complaint which he did not respond to. I gave him an opportunity to meet at the restaurant the next time he was working so he could give me a credit. Apparently he did not trust his employee to give me the credit while I was at the store when this incident occurred. The person who owns the store is an embarrassment to the corporate image and I would highly recommend avoiding it at all costs. There are other franchise stores that will get my business in the future.
I am the United States Air Force Veteran that stopped by your store located on Stirling Road and University Drive on Veteran’s Day, 2025. First of all, I want to apologize for being so irate at the situation and I know that you and I didn’t speak but I realized that your employee took a lot of the heat during the conversation. Please pass on my apologies to him. The fact of the matter as I see it remains that there is no indication on the Firehouse Subs website nor on the app that indicates that we must come into the store to take advantage of the veterans Day discount and not use the app. Would it not benefit you as a business owner to make sure that people may be taking advantage of the offer and going to different stores? Should it not be required to use the app so you can track this at a corporate level? Perhaps I will make my case to corporate and see if this is something they would financially seem as viable and beneficial company-wide. I will do this especially if this issue of not honoring the Veterans Day BOGO is not resolved to my satisfaction. I will be satisfied with a credit back to my credit for the amount I was charged for the second Hook And Ladder with extra meat. I’m sure 5 days is ample time for you to reach a decision on your part at which point I will escalate it before your corporate office and posting a Google review to warn other Veterans of your tactics.

I’m a big fan of Firehouse. For that reason, I’d advise you NOT to visit this particular location.
In the past year, the decline has been ABYSMAL! I have gone to do pick-up a handful of times, the A/C has been down 4 out of the 5 times. The staff is sweaty and (understandably) cranky. The food quality keeps getting worse and worse; soggy break, poorly cut meat, crusty mayo, wilted lettuce, off-color cheese… It is clear this location has a management problem. I gave them chance after chance, thinking they would correct the issues, but wnough is enough. Do yourself a favor and if you are craving a good sub, go to a different FireHouse Subs, this location is severely neglected.

Ordered from Uber eats italian sub, SO GROSS! The sub is supposed to be cold, but instead they heat up your sub AFTER it has a bunch of mayo and lettuce on it causing it to be a nasty sloppy mess! Why would you heat up lettuce and mayo??
