Year in, year out, this place is awesome. I happen to order ‘The New Yorker’ this time, but over the last 30+ years, I’ve tried just about everything on the menu. A great deli in the heart of Fairfield. Parking can be a bit tricky at times, but got lucky today. Inside and outside seating. You will not be disappointed.

Ordered hot sandwiches and got what seemed to be reheated sandwiches, barely any hot sauce on the buffalo solider. The Harlem shuffle was messy/thrown in a bag and had no flavor

Absolute terrible service I ordered a sandwich. I waited 20 to 25 minutes. I talked to the person. They supposedly never received my order only eat here if you have three hours to wait and for them to get it right and make the order again that you already asked for.

Stopped in and had a pleasant experience. The backroom is nice and unique. Place was clean and well maintained. A little confusing where to order and pay. But at the end of the day the food was good and the staff was friendly.

This weekend I’m moving out of Fairfield, and I say with confidence that I will miss Firehouse Deli the most (and will visit as frequently as reasonably possible). Great food, kind and friendly people, excellent, fast service (even in strange times of Covid), and pickles… I hear the salads are amazing too (says my mother-in-law). I have two favorites on the menu that I probably shouldn’t get EVERY time, but then again, eat what you love. For breakfast, it’s the Alex’s Breakfast Panini, and for lunch, it’s the Harlem Shuffle.
Truly, every sandwich is delicious. They aren’t just slapping deli meat onto dry rolls and sprinkling some salt and pepper. These are delicious creations, with the right combinations of sauces, veggies, meats, and cheese to excite the tastebuds. Everyone looks happy here, and I never leave hungry… not stuffed either, but just right. Top it off with some pickles and call it a day. We recommend a lot of great places in Fairfield to friends for food, but usually the conversation starts with “have we taken you to firehouse deli yet?”
If Firehouse reads this, just wanted to say thanks for being that go-to place that so many people long for when they move to somewhere new. That, and for giving an old firehouse new life (appreciated by a fellow firefighter).

Very good sandwiches – get a lot of meat for the price, which is hard to come by these days. The menu on the wall in the restaurant was a little tough to read, and I would have loved a printed copy to look over!

Way to busy for them to keep up so much so that they were arguing behind the counter because it was too crazy and apparently short staffed. Waited 30 minutes for food. Ordered the special and was given the wrong order. They tried to tell me that’s how they make it and I told them they need to fix the description on the board because what I got was not the sandwich I ordered. They sent someone to look at the board and realized they were in the wrong yet instead of correcting it right there they said I can wait another 20mins or get a refund. Meanwhile I had a 3yr old with me and already waited 30mins for the food to begin with. The girl had no idea how to issue a refund and told me I was using a different card which I had the original receipt for to prove I wasn’t. So far my credit card is showing two of the same charge so guarantee she messed that up too. Then she proceeds to tell me have the day you deserve like I made the sandwich wrong and was complaining for fun. How about acknowledge you guys messed up and prioritize a customer that already paid. For reference here is the picture of the board which lists everything on the sandwich. No where on there under Roma Panini does it state pesto or tomato and the one I got was also missing the balsamic so completely different. Do better!
