Great malatang place! You can pick your own ingredients from the ingredient bar and they cook it for you. There are many items to choose from and 7 soup bases available. I ordered the Beef Bone Soup malatang and it was very flavorful. I also tried the spicy dry pot, which had a great mala taste. They are also giving a free drink with orders right now, which is a nice bonus.
Good food, lots of choices, and a fun dining experience. Would come back again!

We ordered this from TooGoodToGo. The workers were generous, kind, and so helpful. The food was too oily and salty. It tasted heavy handed with garlic salt. My companion and I didn’t finish our food. I wish I could say the flavors were complex and savory but it really tasted flat with too much garlic salt and drenched in oils. Won’t be coming back despite the great hospitality of the staff.

This place is located in the plaza where Tokyo Central Market is located. The lunch special menu was very extensive. I tried the pig hock rice dish and it was decent, but the lean portion of the pork was bit tough to chew. Each dish came with a salad, but no dressing?!? There were also a good variety of hot pots for $15, which nowadays is reasonable. The service was friendly and efficient. Overall, it was a good lunch and we will return to try other items.

If you’re looking for some delicious fusion Chinese food, you should definitely come here. They specialize in yakitori skewers, hotpot, rice bowls and schezwan dishes.
I highly recommend the ribeye skewers, the scallop skewers, abalone skewers—basically, everything on a skewer here is delicious.
The cold dishes are delicious as well like the jellyfish. I’ve also tried the clams with glass noodles which is perfect for a cold day. If you can’t eat spicy food, I recommend something less spicy.
Don’t skip on the desserts; their ice cream dessert is a must try as well as their bubble tea drinks!

Lovely cafe with a variety of skewers. I like the corn skewer the most. They’re grilled corns on the stick. The rice dishes are good in general but a bit too salty overall. The dessert and drinks are pretty sweet. I recommend the starter dishes out of everything. Staff was really nice. Clean restroom.

Located in the same plaza as Tokyo Central, this place serves some delicious yakitori, hotpot, curry rice and seafood boil! Group of my friends decided to get some drinks and spend Friday night here. We enjoyed our soju and yakitori pairings. They also serve Bibimbap with lots of veggies and your choice of protein! Get the beef or eel Bibimbap! Also the mango with sago dessert was the perfect ending to our night! Check them out this weekend! They also have good value lunch specials!

More like a 4.5 stars, overall, the food was very good. I usually don’t eat Asian food in a cafe or cafe-like environment, nor am I ever in West Covina. I was pleasantly surprised at how solid the food was. The fried tofu was a must-try, and the bbq skewers and yakitori tasted almost like something out of an Asian bbq restaurant. Major props. Even the mini hotpot was pretty solid.
One of the major things I like about Cheers Cafe is the clean environment. It’s a cozy and pretty fun place to be. Did I mention you can also get many drinks here? It is truly a cafe experience, and I was sure to get my taro milk tea with my meal.
