Fire & Vine – Valentine’s Day Win

Had a great Valentine’s Day dinner at Fire & Vine! We originally booked for 2:30 but didn’t realize the dinner menu doesn’t start until 4:00 on Valentine’s Day. The staff was super helpful and moved our reservation to 4:00 with no problem at all.

The food was incredible. The ribeye and filet mignon were both amazing – seriously some of the best steaks we’ve had. My wife tried oysters for the first time, which was a fun experience.

We sat upstairs and I’d definitely recommend it. The upstairs has a vibrant, happening vibe that we really enjoyed. If you’re looking for something more intimate, the downstairs might be more your speed.

Can’t say enough good things about the staff. They handled our reservation mix-up like pros and took great care of us all night.

Only suggestion – that square planter in the middle of the parking lot makes it a bit tricky to maneuver. Removing it would make parking a lot easier.

Definitely recommend Fire & Vine for a special occasion or just when you want a killer steak!

Went to Cookeville for my sons college graduation and simply did not expect to have such a positive dining experience that we had here at Fire and Vine.

Service was excellent and the food exceeded expectations. If I had a complaint, the Bruschetta bread really was not toasted and crispy, I did not care for their take on it.

If I am every back in town, I will go out of my way to come to this kozy diner with an amazing staff, excellent food, and great atmosphere.

My mom and I came here for a lunch, with it being her first time here. She understood why I had raving reviews. Fire and Vine is everything you want with an upscale restaurant without it being very formal. Everything from the decor to the food has such wonderful detail. We ordered our meal to share, and still ended up with leftovers. The short rib hash has such amazing flavor notes, perfectly tender short rib, and just enough balsamic glaze to balance the flavors. Our waiter even had the kitchen split the dish on 2 plates for us to share better. The Chicago style pizza is amazing, and the window looking into the kitchen is such a nice touch. Our pizza came out fresh, and the ham on this Hawaiian was some of the best I’ve had. We will definitely be going back and bringing more family with us.

We had the bruschetta as an appetizer and it was fresh and amazing. For our entrée we had the surf and turf filet with scallopes mashed potatoes and asparagus. To say it was perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious was an understatement! The service was great and they had an extensive bourbon selection! We will definitely be back!

We had THE WORST experience at the fire & vine today. Had to wait several minutes to be seated, no host at the front and only 3 tables with customers. Ordered 2 pizzas and a salad. After about 25 mins we got the salad, it was nice and cold, then when the pizza didn’t come for another 40 mins the first one was pretty dark/burnt, then another 10 to 15 mins the other pizza arrived, it was ok but in the mean time the waitress noticed that we were getting upset waiting SOO long she sent the manager over SAM , she was SOO RUDE and said we weren’t the only ones ordering pizza and the stones got to hot an burned my pizza, and did I still want them to remake it, yum ya!! I have been waiting over an hour to EAT. Got the bill and she did not adjust the price AT ALL. I WILL NEVER EAT THERE AGAIN it takes less than 10 mins to make a pizza and keep in mind they were NOT busy and we were there just shy of 2 hours. Ridiculous! The front glass door was So dirty that should have been my red flag. I would not recommend this place to anyone I know. Disappointed!

Food was great! I had the surf and turf, it was pretty good. The steak came out on top of mashed potatoes which I didn’t care much for, and the street corn was ok.
I did try the pizza too, it was really good!!! If I go back again I will definitely get pizza! I would recommend the pizza!
Service was ok, they did run us out of drinks.
They would not let us order the Chicago crust pizza because they said it took to long to cook, that was a real bummer…
The atmosphere was pretty awesome upstairs. It looks like it would be open air and windows in the summer. It was closed off with good warm propane heaters in the cool nights… They had a full bar. It is kinda a classy joint. I got good vibes there!

Our waitress was apparently having a really bad day. Her attitude was extremely bitchy. Looked like she was having it out with one of the male servers. Her attention was not on our table. Our drinks say at the bar for over 10 mins. She never offered to get us another one. We would have stayed longer and drank more but her attitude kinda killed it. The food was great though!!! Really loved the atmosphere. Would definitely go back just not if that waitress was ours again.

This restaurant is high quality gourmet, while being filling and palatable. I’m a foodie and well experienced with the culinary arts. I’ve eaten at the best in New York, New Orleans, Chicago, and Nashville. The flavor profile on the charcuterie board was impressive and everything else waa delicious, as well. I read that Chef Ryan locally sources from farmers, and our server Jack did an excellent job of hosting our experience. I think they should be considered for awards. I would recommend a cracker and an additional cheese and meat for the board to help deliver the wonderfully large amount of honeyed goat cheese, and that fantastic basil relish. Superior to most dining experiences, a truly hidden gem in Cookeville. I wish they didn’t parlay with the sports bar environment. They have these great fire tables, rooftop, and plants. The sports television doesn’t belong.

Oh my gosh! Had brunch by myself this morning, and was served by the wonderful Isabella. Cozy ambiance, incredible food and cocktails, sweet staff. Will definitely be back for more, even if I’m coming from GA!

We visited based on recommendations from friends. To start, they were out of our first 3 choices of appetizers. (We were there at 5 p.m.) The oysters were good quality, the fried cheese was mediocre. It took quite a while for my burger to be brought out and a very long while for my husband’s pizza. Communication was lacking as to an explanation of the lengthy delay. We had our food boxed to take home as we had been there much longer than planned. I didn’t want to eat my meal alone when my husband didn’t have his. After all, we were there to celebrate Father’s Day. It was disappointing after hearing such rave reviews. Surprisingly it wasn’t busy at all. When I asked if it normally took that long for pizza, the server said no and she didn’t know what happened. I understand that pizza takes a bit longer than other menu items, however this was an unacceptable amount of time. We will give it another try sometime – possibly. However, it is not at the top of our list.
