We recently tried takeout from Fire-Spice Chicken and Cocktails, a small, hidden gem with a laid-back vibe and super friendly, fast service. Here’s what we ordered and how it stacked up.
• Fried Mushrooms: Tasty and crispy, but could’ve used a bit more Parmesan to really bring out the flavor.
• Cheeseburger with Fries: Solid choice. The burger was juicy and flavorful, and the fries held up well even for takeout.
• 1/4 Chicken with Mashed Potatoes and Street Corn: The chicken skin was packed with flavor—crispy and well-seasoned—but the meat itself was a bit dry. The mashed potatoes were bland and could’ve benefited from more butter and seasoning. As for the street corn, we were expecting the traditional Mexican-style corn on the cob, but it came off the cob with toppings—not bad, just not what we anticipated.
• Mac and Cheese (Side): Pretty good overall, but a touch more cheese would’ve taken it to the next level.
While a few items could use some tweaks, overall, we appreciated the quick service and flavorful highlights. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area and want to support a local hole-in-the-wall.

The fried green beans were good but over cooked. Little light on dipping sauce. Portion was okay. Ordered the chicken and then expected to be able to order with the sauces. The sauces are for wings only. So extra for a side of Nashville hot which tasted odd. The chicken reminded us of Cornish game hen not chicken. Very small leg and thigh. The sides. In separate small containers the Mac n cheese could use more flavor tater tots pretty hard to mess up. And a folded tortilla for fun. Where was the spice? And the cocktails we passed , prices seemed high. Service was great and looked great inside after remodeling. Didn’t see if they changed the patio.

We have been here twice! Once on a Sunday before 1 pm and once on a Friday night and both times was great. The environment is great the service is good and the fried mushrooms, wings and fried green beans are so good! It gives me hole in the wall vibes just because of the dart boards which are a great touch. The patio was hot duh TEXAS but maybe some misters would help although idk if that’s a code violation. My wife and I love this place and I can see us becoming regulars here.

We went for just a little hang out and it we had a great time. The service was great. I had the “Tinga Enpanadas” and for dessert the “Sweet Plantains” which where so good. The patio area was great, it’s open and fresh.
I would go back and I recommend to go. The owners came and check on the service, which I love it!

A Friend took us for a Christmas lunch treat! Never been there and it was “old town Midlothian vibes” Food was super, especially the Prime Rib Burger, Fried Shrimp and the Cheesecake with caramel sauce was excellent. They even made a fresh pot of coffee for us. The owner came over and was very nice and Sam the waitress was prompt, friendly and did a great job. We will be going back for lunch again.

Great bar to hangout and eat! The lunch specials are a steal, 10$ for a 1/4 chicken either two sides included? The fried shrimp is great aswell if you cover in lemon pepper and squeeze some fresh lemons. Heard the fresh espresso martinis are good

Came for dinner on Friday evening. Because of the nice weather, we chose to sit outdoors, but even if it was a little hot , we probably would have anyways. Inside seating is straight up bar, very loud with cramped seating for couples. Not a family restaurant. The outdoor sitting was really nice and would definitely be a great place to watch a game on saturday or sunday. The service was good and very attentive. The food was the main problem, since it was our first time we tried 2 appetizers, the devil eggs, great, and the empanadas, which honestly tasted like they were frozen out of a bag. We shared 1/2 a chicken since it’s in the name right. The chicken is rotisserie and it was bone dry, we hate to report that, but it was. The flavor was okay, probably good if juicy and I imagine that earlier in the day the chicken was juicy, but this late at night, chicken was bad and is not recommended. Prices were on par for Midlothian.
