Located on Grand Avenue in the former ‘Vinz’ unit next to the Patio Playhouse Theater, it’s nice to have an option for Indian food in Escondido.

The restaurant is fairly spacious with indoor and outdoor dining, a long bar, and a couple of pool tables in a connected room/area. I found the decor/atmosphere slightly stark and more ‘café’ than ‘gastropub’. Maybe that changes on busy evenings.

The food was great, although we noticed they didn’t ask about a ‘spice level’ — it was a mild one-size-fits-all spice. A nice touch was a metal water vessel that was provided on the table with metal cups.

The owner was friendly. The waitress was slightly odd.

Wait time for food was a tiny bit slow.

There’s a single unisex restroom off the back patio, accessed by code.

Ample parking on the surrounding streets and in free public lots. Watch out for 2-hour limit signs.

If you’re an Indian food lover, check out Firangi!

Best Indian food I have ever had, I am completely blown away. The service from Sky was incredible, she was so sweet and knowledgeable about the menu which made ordering a breeze, my group had apps, curry, butter chicken, NA drinks and dessert and each one of those was phenomenal. I got the butter chicken and I will be dreaming about it tonight. The owner came out and was so kind and welcoming, I already can’t wait to go back.

First time here and atmosphere was great staff was very nice and attentive. Food was delicious, as well as the drinks. Music was great! It was on and a little loud but you could still talk and enjoy yourself. It was quiet at the same time clean and just loved the experience. We will be returning

Amazing food and even better service! Every dish we tried was full of authentic flavors and perfectly spiced. The menu has a great variety, and everything tasted fresh. You can tell the chefs really know what they’re doing.
The service was warm and attentive. The staff made us feel right at home and even gave great recommendations. It’s a place we’ll definitely come back to. Highly recommended for anyone craving quality Indian food!

In the photo is the Butter Chicken curry & Masala with Lamb curry! Couldn’t recommend this place more! Start with the NaanHummus and get two Cheese Samosas! Then get your curry and a drink- I recommend the Mangonada if you’re in search of a mocktail. The customer service 10/10! Everyone was friendly and kept checking in on how everything was tasting. This place is great make a quick stop or a dinner date HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

We escaped for a quiet, early Valentine’s brunch today while the boys were at school, and honestly? It felt like a mini vacation.

We went to Firangi Indian Eatery on Grand Avenue in Escondido, and yaar, the ambiance is just chef’s kiss. It’s not loud at all—perfect for actually talking to each other! The colors are so soft and beautiful, and the furniture is super comfortable. It feels fancy but also cozy, if that makes sense.

And the food? We kept it simple because we were saving room for dinner, but everything we ate was mind-blowing.

We started with their cocktails—all desi-fied with the cutest names. We tried the Monsoon Mojito and the Tantric Yoga, and let me tell you, they were refreshing and unique.

For food, we ordered the “Yogurt Explosions” (which we desis know and love as Dahi Chaat)—it was perfectly tangy and sweet. Then came the Firangi Mussels, served in the most yum, creamy coconut curry. And obviously, we couldn’t just eat that curry with a spoon, so we ordered the homemade tandoor-baked Garlic Naan on the side. It was so fresh, buttery, and crunchy on the edges, literally melting in the mouth.

I’m so glad Escondido finally has a desi fusion (or should I say, “vetch” fusion?) restaurant like this. It feels like fine dining but with the flavors of home. Can’t wait to go back for a full course meal! Highly recommended. ️

Are here for the first time last night with my family. It was buzzing with a lively vibe. Unfortunately as cool as that is, the acoustics in here are awful. Talking from other tables echoes extremely loudly in the room making it hard to converse at all. The staff was extremely friendly but chaotic. We had three different people serving us that didn’t seem to know what the others were doing. Knowledge of menu items wasn’t very high. My wife asked about getting something non spicy and it seemed like she didn’t know for sure, but the veggie korma she got was inedible for her (it wasn’t overly spicy for me but definitely noticable). My son and I greatly enjoyed our respective meals… Veggie korma and chicken vindaloo. The naan was billed separately but is a generous amount. Rice comes with most meals. The portions are about the right size for dinner but are quite expensive for that amount.

Overall it’s eat here again if I knew what item on the menu my wife could eat and perhaps on a less busy night. They do have several other items on their menu I’d like to try. It’s also great to have an Indian food option in Escondido. I totally understand the need to charge these prices to be on Grand Ave.

Had heard good things about this place so I decided to check it out since I was in San Diego for the weekend. Amazing food. The dynamite wings were my favorite but everything from the naan to the mussels was delicious. Service was very fast, and the people working there were very knowledgeable and friendly, especially Rajan, who seemed very passionate about the restaurant. Located in a cool downtown area that’s great to walk around in after. Some cool art too (see picture) Glad that there’s finally a place that finds the perfect balance between traditional and modern Indian food. I will be back whenever I’m in town again.

Very, very good Indian food. Awesome vibes. A welcome addition to Grand Ave. Consider me a regular, for the food but also for the beer selection and pool tables.
