Amazing little coffee shop. My wife is super particular with her coffee, and this is her absolute favorite place to go. The breakfast sandwiches are good, too. Super friendly staff. Don’t think we’ve ever had any issues with our orders after probably 50+ visits. 6/5 stars if I could

The Filling Station, for me, has been one of the most important community spaces in Mankato since moving here about 3 years ago.
The atmosphere is cozy and has currently been updated to include a fun water feature- the staff are friendly relatable locals who care about what they are doing and it shows.
They have great NA/AA meetings, which is what first had me going in regularly. They also support local artists, especially if it’s your first showing- an incredibly valuable opportunity for people like me.

I have been here a few times now, I love trying out their coffee flights that change each month. It’s a fun way to try new drinks!

I love a cozy coffee shop with a chill vibe. Smooth drip coffee and a pumpkin chocolate chip scone that was oh so good. The barista was exceptionally nice and attentive. She really made me feel at home. I wish I could transplant this place to Chicago where I live.

This little coffeehouse has great coffee. I had a turtle mocha that just made me want more. I’m not a big breakfast sandwich person, but the thick slice of provolone on the Front Street sandwich was very good. The atmosphere was calm, peaceful, and friendly – even with a few children and babies in the mix. It’s a great place to just chill.

We stopped here while traveling from out-of-state. We ordered two lattes and a Front Street breakfast sandwich. Everything was wonderful! The atmosphere is unique and welcoming. It’s not just a coffee shop, it’s an experience! This is a place you definitely want to visit!

The sandwiches are pretty good, not worth almost $10 though that’s for sure. The espresso is mediocre. You can’t order their seasonal drinks by themselves, if you want a seasonal drink, you have to sit in the small cramped shop and order a whole flight of coffees. Genuinely the stupidest thing I’ve seen in a long time, they have all the ingredients for the coffee but won’t make it because why? The workers have always been super nice but they’re so understaffed that they ALWAYS look so stressed, like i’ve been trying to like this place for years and they’ve always been understaffed. They make all the sandwiches to order it looks like and 80% of the time they only staff two people so they’re forced to be stressed. Also they charge you for to go containers that fall apart, like you have to pay extra to take your food to go and the containers aren’t even worth the extra money you pay for them. This place cracks me up. Two stars instead of one only because the workers are nice and the garlic aioli.

This coffee shop is what I would label as “grunge” or a “dive” . Not trying to be mean/rude, but trying to give a real explanation for what it felt like to me. With that being said, I love a mom and pop type coffee shop and some would love the “vibe” here. Think of a “dive bar” and this would be the equivalent for a coffee shop. They need better ventilation asap… the smell of fried bacon/sausage/eggs was soo overwhelming I almost walked out (I am not a vegetarian). I am smell sensitive and this might not bother others but it was overwhelming for me. There was a haze in the air for sure from cooking. All the employees I spoke with were all very nice. I had the vanilla honey bee iced latte and it was wayyy too sweet. This is partly my fault for not asking how sweet it was but idk how anyone could drink it as it was like straight sugar. Also I had enough ice to last me about 2 minutes before it all melted. The flavor was good if that makes sense but the sweetness was outta this world (not in a good way). This place was super busy tho! I am glad people love this place as again I am always for a mom and pop coffee shop, but respectfully I won’t be back. (I did sit in a chair and then questioned myself after looking at the chair next to me and how filthy it was… I understand the “old comfy chair” aesthetic but these chairs need to be tossed and better ones brought in or at least chair covers where you can wash them and it not look filthy)

Enjoyed a nice light lunch here. The BLT was just enough to keep you going through your day. The latte flight was a nice idea but I only really enjoyed one out of the four flavors. Would come back next time I’m in town.

One of the best local coffee shops you will ever find. The service is fast the crowd feels like family, there are lots of places to lounge in a soft chair or spread out for work or a study session. Their late night options are a rare find as well and if you watch the calendar you may get to enjoy some live music. On top of all of this they bake their own treats and have some amazing breakfast and lunch sandwiches. Come downtown and check it out for yourself.
