Have been ordering from here since we moved early this year. Wait times are insane but well worth it. Unfortunately the rude phone service has steered us to other locations for local pizza night. My wife and myself have had the same issue the last few times we have called to order. We don’t mind waiting for hours because the food is worth the wait but the guy on the other end of the phone always seems annoyed, if you don’t like working with the public then you should consider a job that doesn’t require direct customer service. Sad because we really enjoy the food but we won’t support a business that treats their customers as if they are the problem.

I’ve been a fan of Filippo’s for years, but the crew in Mahomet is doing something truly special. Some of the nicest folks you’ll ever meet cranking out the best food in the county.
Every pizza I’ve had in the building or taken home has made me so genuinely happy. They even offer a take & bake option- which is super convenient for me!
Now that the dining room has reopened, I’m sure they’ll be seeing me way more often.

Best pizza in the Champaign-Urbana area! They specialize in thin crust pizza and I think their pizza sauce is what sets them apart. It’s a little sweeter than normal sauce and it definitely feels more unique and homemade. If you’re looking to get your pizza quickly I recommend dining in because their demand for carry out is extremely busy. If you call on the weekends as soon as they’re open to place an order for pickup it’ll usually be at least a 2 hour wait because they have so many orders. They also only accept cash, so be prepared.

FYI Menu prices are slightly higher than those in the photo!! Just higher by a dollar or two ish on some items!

Initially called for carry out (the guy informing us of wait times was short with my husband and rude, as if we were an inconvenience) but due to the long wait times we decided to head in after the game thinking it would be quicker as it was later in the evening. We were greeted immediately, the server was the sweetest and quickly got our order in. Watching her power clean the dining room was proof the wait times earlier in the evening had to be accurate! The food was great, pizza was like nothing we have ever had and the Lasagna didn’t miss a beat. The atmosphere while eating is the only reason we will never be back. We overheard one of the employees discussing with who appeared to be a customer (the only one not wearing a Filippos T-shirt) his history with the “bad” steroids and his recent encounters with the “not so bad” steroids. At one point the phone rang and the guy got up to answer it only to hang up and immediately start “trash talking” the caller. We really enjoyed the food, 10/10 and the server, 10/10 but that type of conversation is not one we want our 12 year old to hear and not one appropriate for a family restaurant.

Food was amazing as always the waitress we had was amazing great personality and really cared about her customers and her job! The only problem I had was the temperature it was pretty cold in there but I understood it because the staff are running around like crazy making sure everybody was happy. Overall I plan on coming back in the future!

The food is super delicious every time. Every time I visit the area I gotta have Filippos! Best chicken Alfredo in the entire area. I forgot to take pictures oops, but the staff is also super friendly and welcoming. Definitely worth a try!

First visit to Filippo’s (and Mahomet). I was at first disappointed that the inside dining room was closed. However, I was offered a table outside. Despite the cool weather, I decided to eat outside rather than drive my pizza back to Champaign. Staff (Mrs Filippo, I assume) was super friendly and helpful. The pizza was delicious. Unique spice blend gave it a different, but really good flavor. Based on the steady stream of pick up orders, I’d guess they are a very popular local pizza place. Make sure you have cash, as I don’t think they take credit cards. I’ll definitely stop in again next time I’m through the area.

Decent food and the service was adequate for the size of this restaurant. The atmosphere was just okay. We heard the music that the cook wanted to hear because the kitchen is open to the dining area and the volume was higher than expected. Not bad music, just didn’t match an Italian meal. The place is dark. Plus, since no credit cards are accepted here, be prepared to pay in cash or write a check.
