I have a sensitive stomach, and sometimes when I eat out, I leave the restaurant feeling uncomfortable. I did not experience this at Figulina. The food was decadent without being heavy. They are really clever with their sauces. I’m almost certain they make their own pasta. Everything tasted high quality.
I think the most outstanding items that we ate were the tuna Crudo and the tiramisu, but we definitely enjoyed everything.
This is quite an Italian restaurant with a twist and a cool vibe.
I came with my boss and other coworkers for our holiday dinner, and it was fantastic. The menu offers a variety of options of pasta dishes with a twist. I went for the Dopio Ravioli (collard green pesto, celeriac béchamel, ham broth and pecorino sardo). To drink l, I had a cocktail with mezcal. My team members also had the ravioli and other plates I can’t remember. Everything was delicious!
The service was superb with professional and helpful attitudes. Common spaces were clean and comfortable and the restaurant was located in a central area easy to access and with a few street spaces and couple of paid parking lots nearby.
Overall, it’s a fantastic restaurant for a special occasion or if you simply like pasta with a delicious fusion. 100% recommended.
In terms of service, the host staff was hospitable and welcoming. I came a bit early for my reservation but they were still able to sit me quickly with no issues. My server, Sandra was super helpful with her recommendations and was attentive when it came to checking up on me throughout the meal. Overall, no complaints!
In terms of atmosphere this spot great for date night, big enough for parties, or even solo meal to treat yourself. Something to note: they do offer communal seating if you are solo or bar seating.
Let’s get to the good stuff: food and drinks. If you like tequila I highly recommend Flying Too Close. A pinch liquor forward, but if you like the taste of tequila like me, you’re in for a treat. The perfect sipping drink pre or post meal.
Now, I’m a sucker for seared scallops so I had to give them a try. The black étouffée complimented them nicely: smooth and flavorful. The okra and zucchini were cooked well and added some nice color to the plate.
Now to talk about the star of the show: the cappelletti. One of the best pasta dishes I’ve ever had. Perfect balance of sweet and savory. Perfect serving size. Great presentation. I honestly should’ve taken some to-go and then some. Maybe I’ll stop by tomorrow…
Honestly, I can’t recommend this place enough; I will for sure be coming back here during my next visit in Raleigh!! Until then, I’ll just be dreaming about the cappelletti.
The dishes ordered were a sweet potato with popcorn and a honey glaze. A rigatoni with bread crumbs and mushroom. A pear dish with a sweet glaze. The flavor choices were truly amazing and the dishes offered would ignite the palate with sweet and savory flavors.
Loved this restaurant!
