Unfortunately there wasn’t much seating when we were there as it is very limited!
I’m not even a huge coffee or matcha person, but this was good. I came here after seeing Fifth Sip on social media and decided to try the iced matcha latte. The staff was welcoming and fast, and the place has that cozy-modern vibe that makes you want to stay for another drink. Would definitely get again.
Sesame cold foam was fine. It kinda tasted like nothing? And weird texture. There was like 4 sips of coffee below that, and thankfully I asked for less sweet because I can only imagine how overpowered by tastebuds would be in full sweetness mode.
The inside has no windows and nothing really going on. No restrooms.
It’s more of a dessert coffee. I was not wowed. They have cool theoretical flavors, I am not sure I would run back to try them though.
The cream on top is so yum yum. I kind of wish their regular size was a bit bigger, but whatever. Latte cost me $9.50 yikes.
A few stools outside to sit. No where to sit inside.
Staff are really nice.
Value 3/5
Totally love that they offer so many different Vietnamese coffee options here! I noticed the $8.50 price tag on the Hanoi Egg Coffee but went for it anyway. The coffee’s flavor was bold, and that egg cream was perf
The Viet coffee itself is a bit more on the watery side, not super authentic, but good enough!
The Hanoi egg coffee – it’s okay! 3/5 ⭐️ NY doesn’t have a largest population of Viet cuisine or coffee like the west coast but this is good enough! They add cocoa powder on top which isn’t traditional and doesn’t add or take away imo.
The pandan latte – unfortunately the pandan tastes extremely artificial. Wish there was some cream foam to add a bit of texture but it was just watered down coffee with artificial flavoring extract. 2/5 ⭐️
Salted coffee – good salted cream top! similar sentiments as above. 4/5 ⭐️
Atmosphere: it’s very bright and stark, small but not cozy vibes. Seating is limited to a beach and stools really close to the wall. Other viet cafes express more culture which makes the experience nicer.
*There’s a weird stench, like BO luckily this place is more of a takeout vibe so don’t plan to sit and chit chat or do any work here.
Baristas: always super nice! I’ve never encountered any that are of visibly of Asian decent or Vietnamese race which is different from other Viet cafes.
