Right when we entered, the manager, Trevor, greeted us with a warm smile! We were sat quickly and had amazing service. We ordered the Arancini for the appetizer and the second I bit into it I was met with a wonderful consistency and full of flavor. I could have had two more and called it my entree, it was so good.

When ordering our entrees, Trevor was kind and knowledgeable to our questions. I ordered the porq chops and my wife got the anti establishmentucky fried chicken (and yes we laughed as it was said out loud). The portions were wonderful. We left satisfied and full, but not over-stuffed. The flavor was outstanding with every bite.

As a vegetarian, it is difficult to find a good choice that provides me with plenty options. Fifth House fills that void splendidly.

10/10 looking forward to going back to try their other options!

Every meal I’ve had here has been amazing and I’m so glad Fifth House opened. They have all of my favorites from Modern Love but a few unique, new things that have been wonderful as well.

I’m dating a vegan, and one thing I miss about my old routine is going out to eat and trying new places – especially since the menu is usually so limited for them when we go together. We were both excited to see that this place has opened, since Omaha was sorely missing a great vegan spot. I was absolutely BLOWN AWAY today by the three dishes we had. Both texturally and taste-wise, both the seitan buffalo wings and the oyster mushroom “calamari” could have passed for the real dishes themselves. Incredible sauces with both of those. The burger was also fantastic. I need to cop some of these recipes to cook for my s/o at home! Thanks for the great lunch y’all.

Visited with a group today, we love to support plant based small businesses. As this is a new restaurant, they have some things to work out-

1) “Chicken” noodle soup tasted really good, but did not have any noodles in it
2) Pasta fagioli soup also did not have any pasta in it
3) Spicy “chicken” sandwich was tasty, but not spicy at all
4) Kale caesar salad was really overdressed- 50/50 dressing to greens ratio, was soupy and not good. The taste of the dressing itself was good but was so overpowering I couldn’t eat it. My friend ordered the beet salad, which was good and properly dressed.
5) GF focaccia was unpleasant and tasted like rancid olive oil. The garlic breadsticks were delicious.

My husband and very squirmy 17-month old kiddo came here last night (coming from KC) and let me tell you – this was such a wonderful experience! The service was quick and so accommodating. The food was OUTSTANDING! Our kiddo devoured *EVERYTHING* from the mushroom calamari to the spaghetti beetballs to the alfredo… and yes, even the chocolate ice cream (their first time trying ice cream ). This is a must try spot!

We came for brunch and had an amazing time! I had the french toast with seitan bacon and my partner had the chilaquiles. It was so good I forgot to take pictures! I’ve missed having a vegan place to go on date night since modern love closed. I can’t wait to come back next week and try the pork chops!

I really enjoyed this restaurant in general. The ambience was nice and they have a very classy theme & drink menu. Our server was also very nice and welcoming. She did a great job and I wanna make sure she gets the recognition.

The only drawbacks were the lack of gluten free options: 2 marked entrees & 3 apps, 2 of them that can be adjusted to be gluten free. My first app was the Sichuan Hot Honee Wings and they were barely cooked. It was like raw cauliflower got microwaved in the batter. The Garlic Alfredo ran out after I order so I just went with the Buffalo Cauliflower Wings because at least I’ll be eating something/maybe the sauce is good. Bro the Buffalo Cauliflower wings made everything worth it, they were delicious and perfectly cooked I was so excited. My husband also loved his Winter Squash Curry after his own order of hard Sichuan wings. The buffalo wings and his curry sealed that we will be coming back for sure 🙂 I’ll need to check if you can order the other items gluten free with modifications.

My partner and I sadly will not want to come back here for a while until the restaurant improves more with time. The food was very hit or miss, depending on what was ordered and we ordered different dishes.

My partner ordered the soup/salad/bread combo and I got a hot honey “chicken” sandwich with potatoes. My partner’s focaccia style gluten free bread was as thick as pound cake but had a metallic aftertaste which was not pleasant whatsoever. Their salad dressed was fine, but the beets were large and overtook the salad. This is not really a problem if you love beets, but my partner thought it was not balanced with other ingredients. Their pasta soup was seasoned nicely but was overrun with beans and did not have pasta in it. My sandwich was supposed to be “hot honey” but tasted like neither sweet or spicy, but I will say the crunch of the patty was nice. My potatoes also had a nice crunch texture, but all it had was nutritional yeast sprinkled on it and tasted like nothing. It was very noticeable that the seasoning and salt were not added or forgotten to the potatoes.

The waiter asked if we wanted dessert, but we did not enjoy the food enough to be interested in trying dessert at Fifth House. The waiter was nice, but offered us boxes way too early into our experience and we therefore felt a little rushed. The restaurant felt clean and the atmosphere was nice. Overall our biggest issue was the hit or miss food.

I came here for a date night with my girlfriend, who is not vegetarian and has food intolerances, and we both loved it! As the waitress described, “vegan food for people who are scared of vegan food”. Quiet, relaxed atmosphere, hearty portion sizes, and everything was well seasoned and flavorful. I would highly recommend the “antiestablishmentucky fried chk’n”, the vanilla milkshake and my girlfriend liked the carbonara. The chef also made a print out for my girlfriend of dishes with onions and in what form as she is sensitive to them, which was appreciated. I hope to go back and try the curry dish!

I’ve been looking forward to this place opening up ever since hearing it was on the horizon. Took my mother and fiancee to dinner over the weekend. They are definitely still working out the kinks. While the food was great, we found the service pretty lacking. Our waiter was nice, but not attentive. (While dining, we noticed another table actually got up and grabbed a water pitcher to refill their glasses because their waiter hadn’t). To be fair they were very busy, and seemed to be short staffed. Understandable. It took a while to get our order in. We started with drinks and an appetizer. Two of our 3 drink orders came out, but then it took another 10 minutes or so for our 3rd drink to arrive. When our entrees came, again only 2 of the 3 arrived, and another 10 minutes for the 3rd entree to arrive. The food was tasty. The stand out was the butternut mac. Very good, but also a pretty small portion for the price. It seemed more like a side than an entree. I ordered the seitan pork chops. It was really good but the menu said it would come with mashed sweet potatoes, and it came with regular mashed potatoes. Also the side of brussel sprouts was literally 4 halves, pretty stingy. The apple slaw was really good. My fiancee ordered the fried oyster mushrooms, which was delicious once it finally arrived, but again took a while to come out and only once we followed up with a staff member. Also, it was missing the biscuit, and once that was eventually brought out the biscuit was cold in the middle, like it had been frozen and wasn’t fully thawed out.
So overall, we liked the food and found they were still very much in the growing pains of a recent opening. I’ll definitely give them another shot and update my review with my experience, because I really want this place to succeed.
