Best mexican restaurant in NC for me. I drive 40 minutes just to eat here. Owners are nice people. Portions are huge. My favorite is 1cheese enchiladas and 2 beef tacos combo. Its only $12 and so tasty

Hands down, the best Mexican food I’ve had in Chapel Hill—maybe even the entire Triangle. Not all of us are lucky enough to have a loving Mexican grandma cooking with heart and soul at home, but whoever is in this kitchen absolutely cooks with love. From the perfectly air bubbly chips to the fresh, chunky, incredibly flavorful salsa—everything was spot on. The refried beans and rice alongside my chimichanga tasted unbelievably fresh and truly homemade. All I could say was: wow.
And the service? Even more impressive. I only stopped in for takeout, but in that short time, both the cashier and waitress made me feel completely at home. That kind of genuine hospitality is rare these days, and this was easily the best I’ve experienced in years. I genuinely cannot wait to work my way through the entire menu.

My wife and I are first time visitors to the area and came here for dinner. It is a small place and the parking lot was full (a great sign that it is a good place to eat). We waited about 10 minutes for a table. The service was very friendly and professional. The food was simply outstanding! I had the chicken mole enchiladas, at it was the best mole I have ever had. The menu had a great variety of what I believe to be authentic Mexican items, and everything looked good. Highly recommend!

Best Mexican restaurant I have, been to in over 40 years. Excellent selection, authentic Mexican food. Large options for vegetarian surprisingly. The food has some real taste and does not feel like coming out of a can. Wish there were more restaurants like this in other states. We definitely will go back to this place when we visit again.

Great food at reasonable prices. A little bit out of the way, but worth the trip.

We drive by here all the time & finally we were near here at lunch time. Staff was attentive. Food was amazing. Our burritos were enormous! I took a pix with my fork on it just for measurement. They were delicious. The chips seem like they are actually freshly made from tortillas instead of from a bag. Salsa was perfect. Definitely worth the drive. I can see they do a good takeout business. We got there when they first opened and there were already orders ready for pickup. I noticed their food safety rating was 100 – very impressive. We go to countless upscale restaurants with lower ratings – so I think 100 rating needs an recognition & applause

A popular joint for a reason: fast, friendly service with ample portions of homemade Mexican for good value. Cold beers served with lime. Solid guac. House made chips and salsa. Spicy chile relleno not too hot. Great mole. Steaming veggie fajitas. Fun place, family friendly. Walls with too many awards to count. Clean surfaces.

Perfect gem of a roadside middle of nowhere Mexican Restaurant. The parking lot always has people in it. The food is delicious and worth the drive. Prices are good and portions are fantastic. The best part is everything tastes fresh. I’ve always been greeted with an exuberant hello and promptly been handed a menu. The orders are quickly filled and always arrive hot to the table.

I know this place is considered the best Mexican restaurant in the area. I’ve eaten at many locally owned Mexican restaurants in multiple states. I’ve eaten here twice. Still don’t see what everyone raves about. There’s much better, more flavorful food to be had elsewhere in the area.

My favorite Mexican place in North Carolina and probably east of the Mississippi. Food is cheap, portions are huge, and service is great. I go regularly and it’s worth the 25 minute drive.
