I had the dinner buffet and because I’ve never seen them before I tried the fried mushrooms from the appetizers section of the full menu.
The buffet is a good option when you’re indecisive and you just want to try a few bites of everything. I liked that they had Jello I haven’t had that in a few decades. But otherwise I would describe the food as mediocre. They did have a full menu which I did not order from so I can’t say anything to those selections.
While the fried mushrooms were good a word of caution, they might be cool to the touch on the outside but they are incredibly juicy and that juice inside is piping hot. I pretty well scalded the inside of the roof of my mouth. But otherwise they were pretty good.
It’s neat that they have a little gift shop too. And outside seating when the weather is nice. I suspect something from the menu rather than the buffet would be a better option if the taste of the food is a make it or break it for you.
But there is a salad bar side to the buffet so that’s a bonus if you like to mix and match your choices.
Lastly, I also was pleased by the selection of sauces on the tables rather than just salt and pepper.

Very good buffet food and nice staff. Bathroom was very clean, the cabbage was on point so was the blackberry cobbler. My husband wanted fried chicken so we stopped. He enjoyed it and so did I. The lunch buffet was $12.99. 2 buffet and 2 teas $37. About normal for a meal these days. Prices have went up more this year so you can’t hardly eat out for less than$40. This place is worth stopping at again. We will go back when in the area.

Fiddler’s did not disappoint!! The thing we liked best was the food. They offered an all you can eat buffet & salad bar. Each night of the week they had a different all you can eat option. Food was very delicious and tasted homemade. They offered a few different food items..I ordered the pimento cheeseburger with sweet potato waffle fries…very tasty!! The pulled pork, with their Carolina Gold BBQ sauce, tasted SO good. They said that they smoke their pork for 18+ hours in Maple wood chips (you could taste it)…very tender as well!! Great dessert options as well. Had a quaint little gift shop in the front and the restaurant was decorated nicely. Had clean restrooms and a clean dining room. Service was good as well!

This is a very tasty, nice restaurant that used to be Shoney’s. It has breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They have a selection of many fruits and vegetables, as well as meats for the buffet.
They have great flavor, and I was pleasantly surprised. It was seasoned well and everything was cooked to good standard. The desserts were good also.
I recommend anyone that is a fan of shoneys to go check them out. Inside is clean, nice decor, and lots of musical instruments inside on display.

Oh my goodness!! The food, music, atmosphere, service, wait staff was absolutely FABULOUS!!! Me, my hubby and my folks thoroughly ENJOYED our meal, the music (old time country) and decor!!! Wonderful restaurant!!! We will make this a regular stop every time we travel near Galax!!!

I stopped in for a different experience. The restaurant features a buffet. I went against my morals and tried it. The food was barely warm. The salad was great. They refreshed some items on the buffet and put the cooler items on top of the fresh food they brought out. I was not impressed how they handled the food. However this place was fairly busy and people seemed to enjoy it. It’s definitely not for me as I enjoy hot fresh food. The staff was kind. They do have live music on the weekends.

This restaurant is a local experience. It has a large buffet for about $18. We opted for menu items. One of our party chose the pimento bacon burger (bacon was either minimal or left out) but was really well liked. I had wings and deviled eggs. The wings had extremely generous amounts of sweet baby rays dumped on top. They were not cooked in the BBQ. I expect wings to be messy but they were over the top. The deviled eggs tasted like horseradish was added. Not my favorite flavor. The kids meal was really skimpy, dry chicken tenders. The burger eater would give this place a 4. The other two meals were 3s.

Noticed the spot next to the hotel on a long trip. Rather than hit something quick we decided to give the place a try. And boy am I *glad* we did.
I cannot express how fantastic it was. The food was delicious. The atmosphere cozy, and staff friendly.
I have never seen pulled pork, cobbler and fried okra in a buffet before and it did not disappoint.
Truly the place makes me wish I was a local just to experience it more. I take the trip this way semi yearly and you can be darn sure I’m stopping here again next time I do!

Terri was the best waitress ever! She managed our entire side of the dining room of kids on a bus tour, with ease, a smile and a positive attitude. Give that gal a raise! Drinks and pancakes were flowing with no wait, no easy task with our 160 people coming in all at once to this establishment. I’d like to thank all the staff who fed and served us today!
