Rooted Expeditions
This is my honest out of towner review;
My wife are from out of town just passing through, we saw this place and decided to stop in. And boy are we glad we did. We didn’t know what to think at first, it had this old homey, small town feel to it. I felt out of place but welcomed all at the same time.
You walk up to the counter, order what you want, grab the drinks that are in the fridge, sit down where ever you want. They bring out the food to you, and you pay at the counter when your done eating.
Everyone who we spoke to that worked there was absolutely amazing, respectful and all around great! We had the Muffy sandwich I believe it’s called, first time ever having it and WOW, it was amazing! We will definitely be coming back when we pass through again.

On a quick trip to my hometown, I decided to go check out Fertitta’s before I left town. So glad I did! Only regret is that I hadn’t been there before. The historic building, the owners, the history and the Muffy are all amazing!

Enjoyed experiencing a classic. Loved their historical setting and tasty muffins. Quick service. Good price. Bought a jar of the olive salad so we can reminisce at home!

Lots of nostalgia on the inside. The young lady that took my order and gave me a history lesson, Mrs. Agatha, was quite something. Full of life and stories just like the old building they’ve been in since 1927. The “Muffy”, i got TWO of them by the way, is their signature muffuletta sandwich. 9.5/10. Oh and get the homemade jar of olive spread. I mean do it right, RIGHT?? I loved it all. This is Shreveport history live and in color. ❤️ I will definitely be back.

Nice little local sandwich shop. The Muffy tastes good and the service exceeds expectations. Love the atmosphere. If you’re looking for a taste of Shreveport, grab a sandwich from Fertitta’s!

Only reason for 4 stars is I remember coming here 40 years ago and the meat quality was way better l. That said in today’s world having the best meat like they used to would probably be a 30 dollar sandwich now with today’s cost. This is a great little place and at almost 50 I remember my parents telling stories of eating here as teenagers. For those complaing try making a high quality sandwich for 9 bucks. Just enjoy this place while it’s here

I found out about this restaurant through a Facebook page I follow. I thought, “How is there a historic place in Shreveport I have never heard of?!” So I set out to try their Muffy. The place is nostalgic with its decor and history. I love the paint job and the matching strips in the parking lot. I also liked that I could feed two people lunch for $24. The service was quick, there is plenty of room to sit, and it is pretty clean inside. The bad news is I didn’t care for the little sandwich with the cheap meat on it. I’m used to a massive muffuletta where I have to take some home. It was the first one I had that had mustard on it and that was the best part of it. I honestly left wanting a bigger muffy! I can see elderly people going here for year and years and it being there favorite place to go. It has elderly peoples’ hours too. I appreciate the atmosphere and the vibes the place gives I just want a bigger and better muffuletta experience myself.

Wonderful muffaletas. Outstanding. Please go! A rare gem of which Shreveport should be (and IS) very proud! They also carry an extensive selection of Zapp’s Potato Chips, a Louisiana company. Plus creamy, dreamy Pralines for dessert!
