First time here, we were seated right away and got drinks pretty quick. Then the waitress didn’t come over for another 5-8 mins. I get looking over the menu and all but come on. No bread. I had to ask if we could have bread. The food was excellent at a decent price. Only thing was veggies are very plain. No seasonings at all or butter or olive oil, nothing. Nice host, overall nice place. Need to work on the wait staff though. Feel like she was in another world. Never came over to ask how the food was not once, that is until it was gone. Will go back but hope for a different waitress.

you must be kidding me with these reviews. the entrance had an old dirty sofa. cleaning supplies set on the table at the entrance. we asked to sit by a window. they needed to set it. the bus boy tossed the plates on the table an a couple dropped on the dirty floor and put them back on the table. massive spider web in the bathroom. we left . didn’t bother staying , enough very bad signs to not waste my time…we left because of what we saw. No thank you to eating off dishes that were dropped on the floor and the bathroom again no thank you. My husband used the bathroom while a table was being set… my review is accurate.we drove 20 mins to get to your restaurant…

Our family from North Jersey and South Jersey got together in the middle of Jersey at Fernando’s Grille and we are so glad we did. The food here is great. Every dish seems to be elevated up a notch, The Steamed mussels were amazing. The mussels were huge and everyone was trying to dip their bread into the broth. The wild mushroom bisque was good to the last drop. Sesame crusted Ahi Tuna, Seafood Fra Diavola, Chicken Marsala were all perfect. Even a simple dish like the Grilled Chicken Penne was bumped up to another level. I think we had every dessert on the menu and all were great but the Lemoncello cake was voted the favorite. Our waitress was great. She was very attentive and pleasant. Hightstown seems to have lots of historic buildings and is a great little town to check out. Looking forward to our next visit.

Had dinner last night at Fernando’s with my wife. This menu is not over-broad, and instead offers a controlled selection of what most people would consider pretty timeless American classics. And you know what? They’re preparing them with great skill. We both did the weekend prix fixe and were genuinely impressed by everything on our plates. My chicken piccata was frankly decadent, my wife’s salmon cooked perfectly, even the soup and salad were really delicious. Looking forward to coming back again ASAP.

Went for lunch on Easter, and was a buffet style. Plenty of food to choose from, and frankly one of the better Chicken Francoise I’ve had. The parents are locals, and frequent this spot, and have nothing but great things to say.

Amazing…we enjoyed crab cocktail then had the wild mushroom bisque . I had the stuffed shrimp and my husband had the chicken sausage rigatoni! First time here and definitely will be coming back.

Unfortunately we had a terrible experience with Fernando’s. I wish I could rate the food but after an hour and an half wait we had to leave. I had to ask for our soup after waiting an hour. I then asked for bread and was told they didn’t have anymore. When I complained that we waited over an hour and now they don’t have bread they didn’t say, we are so sorry but came out with an attitude and a nasty tone that the bread was in the oven. When I said excuse me why are you talking to us like that, she told ME to calm down. We left (a table of 13) and on the way out we were told “she didn’t need our money.” We live in this town and will be sharing our experience.

Fernando’s Grille has been our favorite restaurant since moving to the Hightstown area. We have had pleasurable dining experiences every time we have gone. We have brought friends and recommended Fernando’s to others and everyone agrees the food, the service & the ambiance are impeccable. Make the commitment to experience a true dining gem in the central NJ area. They are a BYOB establishment so enjoy!
