We had been advised back home and seen on TV lifestyle programmes that any visitors to Queenstown should include a visit to Fergs to try their famous burgers and pies.
When we arrived at Ferg’s, there was a wait time of 45 mins if you wanted a burger however a staff-member outside the store told us if you paid a bit extra, you could enjoy a burger at Ferg’s Bar which is next door.
We took this advise and we went next door and ordered a premium Ferg burger and beef cheek croquettes which were simply delicious and full of flavour.
All the hype around these Ferg burgers is well worth it as the establishment was full of international visitors and tourists including us 2 Australians.
Highly recommended and a must try if you are ever in this area of NZ
Looking forward to visiting Ferg’s again when we are next in NZ.
The food here is also not bad if you want to avoid other Ferg queues. Oysters were fresh, and the burger was pretty good (but I would’ve preferred it a bit more juicy). That said, I do prefer the other places for food.
Thanks to Jack, who was beyond sweet and helpful in helping us choose and many, many delightful drinks, we ended our on a high (pun-intended).
Try the Ferg’s Bar Burger, Tiki no 4, and the Ferg’s Bathtub Gin. Kind staff and truly great bar grub. Can’t recommend this spot enough.
I tried the Orange Passion cocktail, and my wife had the Pavlova Martini. Both drinks were on the sweeter side but still perfect for a vacation treat. The balance of flavors and presentation made them enjoyable and fitting for the atmosphere.
We also shared the Spring Salad Mix and the Croquettes, and both dishes were excellent. The croquettes were crispy and flavorful, while the salad was fresh and perfectly balanced—a great combination for a light yet satisfying meal.
What truly stood out was the phenomenal service. Our server was attentive, friendly, and ensured we had everything we needed, enhancing the overall experience.
If you’re in Queenstown, Ferg’s Bar is a must-visit. Fantastic food, delicious cocktails, and top-tier service. We’ll definitely be back!
Huge shout out to Matt, Kevin, Rob, Guy, Azzi, Annie, Theo, Tim, Enrika, Dorian, and Abbey who made every trip into Ferg feel like we were coming home. Always greeted with a smile, plenty of laughter, and flawless drinks.
Whenever we come to QT, we will always visit Ferg’s bar!
