The wife and I had a short 8 day holiday in NZ recently from Australia that included 3 days in the beautiful Queenstown.
We had been advised back home and seen on TV lifestyle programmes that any visitors to Queenstown should include a visit to Fergs to try their famous burgers and pies.
When we arrived at Ferg’s, there was a wait time of 45 mins if you wanted a burger however a staff-member outside the store told us if you paid a bit extra, you could enjoy a burger at Ferg’s Bar which is next door.
We took this advise and we went next door and ordered a premium Ferg burger and beef cheek croquettes which were simply delicious and full of flavour.
All the hype around these Ferg burgers is well worth it as the establishment was full of international visitors and tourists including us 2 Australians.
Highly recommended and a must try if you are ever in this area of NZ
Looking forward to visiting Ferg’s again when we are next in NZ.

Great drinks and friendly staff. It’s a good place to chill, especially if you’re waiting for a Fergburger next door .

The food here is also not bad if you want to avoid other Ferg queues. Oysters were fresh, and the burger was pretty good (but I would’ve preferred it a bit more juicy). That said, I do prefer the other places for food.

We had the most awesome evening at Fergs Bar. Our daughter and her partner were over from Dubai and we took them to Fergs Bar our absolute favorite. Superb dining and worldclass service, in a comfortable rustic environment. The wine and beverage menu is extensive, wirh affordable pricing. Suitable for special and everyday occasions. Thanks to Rob and the team. You made us feel so special. This is our must go to place in Queenstown

Save yourself the trouble of tourist traps and head on over to Ferg’s Bar (Exceptional-top 3 burger, imo)

Thanks to Jack, who was beyond sweet and helpful in helping us choose and many, many delightful drinks, we ended our on a high (pun-intended).

Try the Ferg’s Bar Burger, Tiki no 4, and the Ferg’s Bathtub Gin. Kind staff and truly great bar grub. Can’t recommend this spot enough.

The cocktail was good. But I would happily skip the food. The waiter was good. However, I wasn’t keen on him taking my menu from the table i was seated for other customers. Seemed a bit rude. I ordered lamb madras (i know its a wrong choice but I really wanted lamb). The meat was great and saved the dish. Waiter said it comes with a Tortilla but the Tortilla was basically frozen roti. Neva will have food here. I did enjoy the music and vibe.

At Ferg’s Bar, you’re welcomed with warmth, and the cocktails are crafted to perfection. The food is delicious, too. It’s the ideal spot for a great Guinness and expertly made cocktails when you’re in Queenstown.

Favorite bar in this hemisphere. Cocktails are very very good. The quality makes all the other bars look bad. It’s nice to find a place that makes strong cocktails of high quality. We sat at the bar and made sure to come back. Highly recommend

Ferg’s Bar in Queenstown exceeded all of our expectations! From start to finish, our experience was absolutely five-star.

I tried the Orange Passion cocktail, and my wife had the Pavlova Martini. Both drinks were on the sweeter side but still perfect for a vacation treat. The balance of flavors and presentation made them enjoyable and fitting for the atmosphere.

We also shared the Spring Salad Mix and the Croquettes, and both dishes were excellent. The croquettes were crispy and flavorful, while the salad was fresh and perfectly balanced—a great combination for a light yet satisfying meal.

What truly stood out was the phenomenal service. Our server was attentive, friendly, and ensured we had everything we needed, enhancing the overall experience.

If you’re in Queenstown, Ferg’s Bar is a must-visit. Fantastic food, delicious cocktails, and top-tier service. We’ll definitely be back!

My wife and I just finished our 3rd trip to Queenstown. We have made it a tradition to stop by Ferg’s Bar every day whenever we are in Queenstown. It is honestly the best place to be while you are having some food or trying many of their incredible cocktrails. The staff are the most talented, friendly, welcoming and genuinely lovely people you will ever meet. On top of that, their skills at making drinks and knowledge about alcohol are second to none!

Huge shout out to Matt, Kevin, Rob, Guy, Azzi, Annie, Theo, Tim, Enrika, Dorian, and Abbey who made every trip into Ferg feel like we were coming home. Always greeted with a smile, plenty of laughter, and flawless drinks.

Whenever we come to QT, we will always visit Ferg’s bar!
