The Felix’s story is that of the New Orleans oyster bar. Ask any New Orleanian where their dad or grandpa took them for their first oysters. The answer is always Felix’s.. Back in the 1940’s, Felix’s put the New Orleans oyster bar on the map, creating a place where oyster-lovers could ‘belly up to the bar’ and have the freshest oysters shucked right in front of them. Felix’s fast became a New Orleans’ institution that drew a devoted local, national and international following which has inspired generations of oyster fans.

Decided to try the famous Felix oyster bar on a solo date. Ordered a dozen raw during happy hour. Oysters were tasty – fresh and buttery. They weren’t the best i had. What made up for it was the sweet server at the bar. She made sure I was great and offered great conversation..
The restaurant is a classy beach bar and attracts locals.
I would go back for the experience again.

Nothing like it. It’s like sitting with friends. My cousin and I had brunch there after the UGA-Ole Miss game. My cousin is a Georgia fan and those drinks tackled all of her problems. The oysters were as fresh as you could possibly get — shucked right in our faces. The staff even shuck for the diverse group of kids that periodically stopped by, giving them their inaugural opportunity to swallow.

4/5 feels perfect. Oysters were very good and the best part of the meal in my opinion… the Po boy was just ok though, I’ve had better elsewhere. Service was above average and the venue and location was pretty nice close to. Lake Pontchatrain.

First off, our waitress was awesome! However, I got the snow crabs and they were cold. The crabs tasted like they’d been cooked long ago and please don’t get me started on my potatoes and corn that came with the crabs. The potatoes were overcooked to the point that I couldn’t even consume them and the corn tasted old. The oysters and calamari were good. I got a sprite to drink and it had left over food stuck in the glass. I chose Felix’s because of a review on TikTok and overall I was not pleased and will not be going back. The money we spent was not worth the quality of the food. I give it a 3/10.

Felix’s (specifically the Lakeshore location) is the best spot for oysters both raw and chargrilled. Tried the boiled snow crab tonight and it was delicious. Staff is also very friendly and attentive. One of my favorite spots.

Food is mediocre. Not a good balance of flavors! The chargrilled oysters plate had half that were burnt and nothing to eat in them. I tried the Bayou Sampler – a ‘New Okeans Traditional Favorite’ on their menu.
Crawfish Etouffee and Jambalaya tasted like Rice-A-Roni and the Crawfish – Uncle Ben’s.
Packeted stuff like.
Coffee was good. Crabcake flavorless.
Perhaps other plates are better.

Don’t go if you expect any kind of service at the bar. I swore years ago I’d never go back because the attitude of the bartenders was always so bad but it was a beautiful day and I thought I’d give it another chance. I regret it. same crappy attitude from the bartenders and staff. Chargrilled oysters $30 a dozen, were not even hot and cheese was not even melted. I asked the bartenders if these looked right and she said yes. They were small but I still wasn’t going to let him go to waste. It wasn’t busy when we were there at 5 pm. Absolutely gorgeous view but the tinted windows make it look like it’s ready to storm. I’d skip this restaurant if you expect decent food or service.

Crab cakes were too salty and yes I told them and yes they were nice to take it off and give a free desert. Drinks arrived after the food and that is never good. We still love to come here and get away. Enjoy watching the boats come in and out of the docking area.

Food is good. Highly recommend from a couple places online. The way they cook the oyster is questionable. It is fresh but I never had grill oyster that has a sweet taste. For grill oysters, other seafood restaurant like Drago fit my preference better.
Everything else is wonderful. Good portion, and fresh.
Service is kind of slow, and their manager is useless. Waiters were running around taking orders and serving, but the man just stand there the whole day and didn’t assist his staff at all.
If the AC doesn’t work upstairs, just sit outside, at least you get some breeze from fans.
