The Felix’s story is that of the New Orleans oyster bar. Ask any New Orleanian where their dad or grandpa took them for their first oysters. The answer is always Felix’s.. Back in the 1940’s, Felix’s put the New Orleans oyster bar on the map, creating a place where oyster-lovers could ‘belly up to the bar’ and have the freshest oysters shucked right in front of them. Felix’s fast became a New Orleans’ institution that drew a devoted local, national and international following which has inspired generations of oyster fans.

We have been to Felix’s a few times now. Most of the staff is friendly. The food taste great, but the serving sizes vary depending on your wait staff/cook. The crab dip is excellent, but one time the container arrived full and another time it was half full. One visit i ordered oysters on the half shell and i got a couple extra to compensate for the smaller size, another time i ordered the same and got exactly 12. The pics show the 2 orders. Most of the wait staff will fill your drinks during dinner, one visit we had to ask for refills. Overall its s nice tourist stop. Outside and inside seating. Plus downstairs had a nice outdoor bar and live band in the evenings.

The food I ordered was good. My only two complaints were the length of time it took for the food to arrive and the parking lot. The parking lot is horrible. The road beside the park lot is horrible as well. You my need to get an alignment after eating the food, but you will not be disappointed with the actual food.

I’ve had a few trips over the past few months to Felix’s Restaurant & Oyster Bar. I would have to say my trips have been great. Although it is busy, they offer ample seating and wait times go fairly quickly. You can sit at the bar – and watch the oyster shucker – get a table inside, or sit outside with a view of the ocean. Whatever you fancy, there seems to be a spot for you.

First-Time patron. The menu is somewhat limited in options. However there are plenty seafood items to choose from. I had the shrimp and fish platter and my wife had the Ribeye steak with onion rings and sweet potato fries. We also had crab fingers as an appetizer. Crab fingers are the same as fried crab claws. The steak was not cooked to specification and was returned to the kitchen for correction. My fries were cold upon delivery to my table. Upon notifying the server of the matter, I was given a fresh platter of fries. We were also offered complimentary deserts for the inconveniences. Exceptional customer service rendered here!!

Long wait to see any staff after being seated. From the pic you can see the small amount of calamari is not worth the price. Noticed another table with the same order of calamari that was worth it. My wife’s jambalaya was packed with sausage & shrimp, mine was basically just pasta. It was good but disappointing in a place I really wanted to try. They have live music, but mediocre at best. It is a nice place though. Will try again, but if the same, it’ll be the last time.

Great view of the beach. Our server was also the bartender, which would be fine, but we were seated outside. He really should be given tables inside so he can keep an eye on his guests while making all the cocktails. It’s not his fault, the manager should know better.

This place was a good time. We had to move inside from outside because I’m a mosquito magnet, but our waitress was so sweet and didn’t mind at all. The drinks were strong and delicious. The oysters were delightfully spicy (they were supposed to be). You can’t go wrong with a po’ boy. Don’t forget that cake. I could go on and on

The red beans and rice had crunchy rice. This shrimp poboy seemed overpriced for the amount of shrimp on it. All of the food was good and the atmosphere was perfect. Service at the outside bar was slow on this night. I will definitely go back to try more things.

First visit and will not be the last!went during happy hour drinks and oysters was priced very well during happy hour.our waitress briann informed us about happy hour and she was very patient very attentive and didn’t try to rush us even Thoe it was busy!she explained everything well and very outgoing good with all her customers.big thanks to her..oysters was good size and delicious!had fried shrimp platter and as of right now best shrimp we’ve had in the area.and the bread pudding knocked it out of the park.the Bloody Mary was over the top!!great food great view great experience we will return..
