The Felix’s story is that of the New Orleans oyster bar. Ask any New Orleanian where their dad or grandpa took them for their first oysters. The answer is always Felix’s.. Back in the 1940’s, Felix’s put the New Orleans oyster bar on the map, creating a place where oyster-lovers could ‘belly up to the bar’ and have the freshest oysters shucked right in front of them. Felix’s fast became a New Orleans’ institution that drew a devoted local, national and international following which has inspired generations of oyster fans.

Melissa C was our waitress and she was awesome. She was so kind, sweet and always checked in on us! Our food tasted great and we had a great view of the ocean. The grilled salmon was the best & I ate all of it. I also had a Felix’s Pink Lemonade which had Tito’s vodka in it! For a table of 4, we spent $126.25 with tax. Not a bad price for getting snow crab and salmon.

The food was fantastic! I had the sautéed shrimp and the flavor was so fresh and not overly spiced. I ordered a cup of the etouffee and wish that it came in gallon containers ~it was that good. My husband had the scampi and was equally pleased. The pecan pie was wonderful for dessert. Our waitress and the hostess were very attentive ~ asking if we needed refills and how we liked the food, etc. We’ll be back.

Great service great food. Sat outside on a lovely day, which afforded a beautiful view of the gulf waters and white sand beach. Enjoyed their fish tacos and bread pudding with whiskey sauce.

It’s been a good while since we’ve been here and everything is the same except for the food. The quality has dropped off to us. Looks good but… ♂️. Disappointed in the char grilled oysters, fried oysters. Gumbos and turtle soup. I Don’t like giving bad reviews. We was disappointed.

This one’s for the Cruisers especially…. First off Cruisers… FELIX’S offers live entertainment, indoor & outdoor oyster bar, scenic views, down stairs outdoor bar and plenty of seating directly in front of the band and room to dance and let loose. Please tip your servers well. Now… I’m all about the oysters and I highly recommend their Oysters Rockefeller however, all of their oysters, regardless of how you choose to treat yourselves..are Delicious. ENJOY!

The host was amazing soon as I walked in, very welcoming. I wanted to place a togo order and was directed to the bar. Bar was empty so no worries, I sat at an empty bar for almost 15min, imagine if I wanted to drink. I ordered the BBQ shrimp entree and wanted the garlic butter sauce instead, when I called earlier in the day the manager was really nice and said it was possible. I also added a side of asparagus and snap pea. To my surprise when I get in my car, I did not have the garlic butter sauce I specifically asked for. Shrimp was over cooked and rubbery and I had all bottom pieces to my asparagus. $28 meal absolutely not worth it. Unfortunately I won’t be giving this another try. Again the host was AMAZING. Bartender on the other hand, not so much. She was sweet but service and attentiveness just wasn’t there.

Went here while on vacation. Was referred by Airbnb host Jennifer and Bull. Was absolutely a great suggestion. The oysters were amazing! Our waitress Star was the best! We went during Mardi Gras and she gave us places to go to enjoy the parades. She told us about happy hour so we went back again the next day. During that time we tried the raw oysters for $1 per oyster. We had a different waiter and he was awesome as well. I’m drawing a blank on his name but doesn’t take away from his service, I had a few shots of tequila before going and a margarita while there so that’s the reason for that But anyway we’ve been wanting to try raw oysters so it was a great opportunity to do so at that price. I’ll say for me it wasn’t good nor was it bad, but I did it! My other half absolutely loved them. However the cooked ones again were awesome! As you can see from the photo there’s nothing left to show we ate them all! I forgot to take before pics lol.

We stopped in for happy hour on Tuesday. There was no wait. We were excited to find out that they have happy hour from 3-6 pm Monday – Friday and offer $1 oysters and 1/2 priced draft beer. Being oyster fans – we definitely took advantage of this deal. We ordered 2 dozen oysters. We also tried the turtle soup – it was delicious and packed with flavor. My 7 year old ate most of it if that tells you anything. We also ordered the shrimp cocktail and the sautéed crab fingers. I have no idea what sauce it was smothered in, but it was thick and super rich. So good and I would definitely get that again. The boys ordered kids cheeseburgers and fries. They were okay – the boys ate them so that’s all that matters. There is a large ramp that allows people with wheelchairs or scooters ability to get inside. There is ton of outdoor and indoor seating available.

Stopped for a quick late afternoon lunch. We had a dozen raw, Felix’s special poboy and a bowl of gumbo. Oysters were fried perfectly blonde and the gumbo was fantastic. Raw oysters were perfect size and salty. Madison waited on us and was spot on with her service. She knew what we were going to ask before we could ask her! Great atmosphere, great service.
