Just wow! I’m certain angels were singing as my tastebuds reveled in the delectable flavors of my Southern Grandma’s delicious cooking of my childhood. Granted, Christmas music was playing (yes, angels were actually harking perfectly on time). The staff is so friendly and helpful. Too many good things, definitely going back for more!

We came for lunch and left with full stomachs!!! . When they this BBQ with Soul they are not kidding. Jay was our server and Jay was fabulous! Jay took our order and returned with our food! The food was delicious! My BBQ ribs and BBQ chicken were very tender!! My yams and greens seasoned without being salty. The price for the portions is appropriate. There was plenty of seating available when we arrived. Plenty of free parking. I truly enjoyed the Motown music being played during my visit. They also offered catering!

I’ve been to the Felix BBQ in Oceanside and I actually got the locations mixed when looking them up on the map coming from the opposite direction.
I’ve gotta say, this location was terrible. I got the 4 meats sampler plate. The restaurant had chipping paint, and dirty walls. The food was not the Felix’s I’m used too.
The Mac n cheese was cold, the brisket & tri tip taste exact the same, drenched in BBQ sauce. Both, not good. The greens were just okay, and I would not get the cabbage again. Also, the cornbread was dry. I used to go to Lake Elsinore restaurant before it closed and it was always great.
The Oceanside location is always great.
If you the real Felix BBQ experience with good food, and good atmosphere, do yourself a favor and go to the one in Oceanside, this one is terrible. Never again. Over $40 down the drain. To top it off I took my cousin here and it was her 1st time at this restaurant, now she doesn’t even wanna give the Oceanside restaurant a chance at all. Highly disappointed.

I am very skeptical about BBQ places and have high standards when it comes to BBQ/soul food. First indication that the food isn’t going to be good is that there’s no collard greens, Mac and cheese, or red beans and rice on the menu. This place has it all. The corn bread given to us before we ordered was a home run, especially with the provided butter. When I went to take a bite of the tri tip and brisket, as soon as it touched my teeth, it fell apart. Tender doesn’t begin to describe this food. The hot link was great and the fried chicken tasted unlike anything I’ve ever had before in the best possible way. Mac was great, red beans and rice was great, and the collard greens were great. 10/10 would come again.

I’ve been in San Diego for 14 years now and finally found barbecue that’s worth buying. I got the sampler platter and was a thousand percent happy. Great flavor great smoke tender juicy everything you want in your barbecue!

Black eyed peas were off the hook! Hush puppies were so good! The rib tips were just ok this time, kinda dry. Mt husband enjoy the brisket. The okra was salty for me. Also my husband enjoyed the fried green tomatoes. Overall we enjoyed the meal . We would not reorder the cabbage. However, we’ll be back.

Holy cow, the ribs, tri tip, hot links, and chicken we had were terrific! The sides are absolutely phenomenal, too. Potato salad with flavor, Mac and cheese from heaven, whole mashed potatoes that take you to another dimension with beans that are perfectly prepared. I’ll be going back as often as possible. If you haven’t been, you should get there soon. Oh, don’t forget to ask for seconds on the cornbread muffins. They have a sweet crust. I need more of those! I wish I would have taken better pictures.

I also got a side of fried green tomatoes, super flavorful and crispy! Then I got collared greens, which I wasn’t expecting to be good and I was so surprised that it tasted soo good!
The cornbread was also very tasty. The second time I got a pulled chicken BBQ sandwich which also was hefty and filling. Meat was tender and seasoned well, with plenty of sauce.

LOVE this place. The food is home cooking good. It’s like grandma, mom and the aunties in the back cooking that good. It hits your soul and comfort you all over. Highly recommended. Favorite is the Alabama chicken, Ox tail and the catfish. You can’t go wrong on any of their BBQ’s. Side dishes favorite candied yams, fried okra, rice and beans. Don’t skip the freshly made pie and the sweet tea. Camille is welcoming, very friendly and attentive. We keep coming back for more. I would come back for their warm freshly made corn bread. Yummy.

We ordered for delivery for a gathering and bought a bunch of different dishes including baby back ribs, fried catfish, brisket, Alabama friend chicken and a bunch of sides (cabbage, rice and beans, fried green tomatoes and mac and cheese). The food quality was amazing, this remains our “go-to” BBQ place. The food was tepid when it arrived, but a quick warm on a couple of trays in the oven was all it took. Everyone enjoyed everything, but the brisket got the most kudos. If only they had beer battered onion rings on the menu ;-). Highly recommend this place, we order all the time and everything on the menu has been awesome so far.
