What an all around delightful place! I stayed next door ( which was also amazing!) and visited each morning. It brightened my morning! Their front staff is so kind and friendly and genuinely excited to see you each morning.
The food was delicious! My favorite was the ham and egg croissant! So fresh and I don’t know what they did to the egg but it was just so creamy! Yum!
They have a wonderful, family friendly atmosphere. The deck is beautifully decorated with colorful umbrellas and beautiful flowers. They have a huge room with a jumbo sized chest board on the floor for the kids to play with. They have freshwater and strawberry water and free apples to grab. The inside is decorated so whimsically and fun. All around a 10!

This place will definitely give you the good feels. It has a unique and fun feel to the decor. The staff are warm and inviting. We had never been there before, and they did a great job of helping us figure things out. It was a wonderful stop on our way to Mt. Rushmore!

What a fun spot! We had a delicious breakfast and some great drinks. They have done such a wonderful job developing the space to be so fun and beautiful. The food was very good. We got the breakfast wrap, the celebration waffle bites, the strawberry and Nutella waffle bites and the ham, egg, and cheese croissant sandwich. All were delicious and the ham, egg, and cheese croissant sandwich was huge. Very filling. All came out at the perfect temp.
They had complimentary fresh strawberry water and apples. Which was so generous.
I loved the theme of the cafe and it fits so well with the Bavarian inn that it is tied to.
The staff was so friendly and helpful. You can order from their kiosk or at the counter.

5-Star Review for Feel Good Café @ Bavarian Inn, Custer SD
Tucked beneath the vibrant red umbrellas at the charming Feel Good Café, I found a slice of joy that felt like it was plucked from a travel magazine. The patio is absolutely picture-perfect — blooming flowers, cozy seating, and the kind of calm that makes you sigh audibly between sips.
We came in exhausted after a long day of work, and this place? Instant reset. The vibe is uplifting, artsy, and effortlessly cozy — like your favorite European aunt’s backyard café.
Service? Friendly and warm. Atmosphere? Pure serotonin. And the setting? Equal parts storybook and sanctuary.
This spot is a hidden gem in Custer, and whether you’re a local or just passing through, it’s the kind of place that makes you linger a little longer — just because it feels so good to be there. This will defiantly become our new go to, to stay at when we are staying down in custer.

The cutest cafe ever. Bavarian feel. They have amazing attention to detail here. We got breakfast to go, ordering the following: drip coffee, tropical chia oat cup, biscuits and gravy, avocado egg smash stack, and the breakfast wrap. Everything was delicious and well packaged. My husband asked to have his travel coffee cup filled instead of getting a to go cup, and they gave him both! While we waited for our food, the kids played left size chess. We got free apples and strawberry water. There are so many kid friendly games and toys. This is the perfect place for families or anyone really. A very chill vibe with soft music, a very clean environment, and adorable decor. Highly recommend. Great value. I think we only paid $35 for four people.

Such an amazing experience here! We thought the sandwiches would be smaller but they were so big and filling. The croissant was beautiful and even more delicious than we expected. We will definitely be back every time!!

The coffee was brewed perfectly and the food very fresh like homemade. The owners and management have a done an incredible job! Wish we discovered this before our last day. Service is great. Food is great. Rewards build up super fast so if you’re going more than once, do them. Our family of 4 got 18$ in rewards from our first meal here for our second meal.
That said, the wife and I like lattes. We both got a latte both days.
2 large ice oat milk lattes.
All 4 were about 95% milk and 5% coffee. The first day we didn’t ask for light ice and it was literally about 4oz of drink with a full cup of ice. The second day we went light ice and instead of an entire cup of ice we got a cup of milk with a shot of coffee.
If you’re looking for anything outside of a basic cup of coffee, this place is amazing. There’s a great staff and atmosphere. But if you want a coffee like you’d get at a chain I would go to Calamity Jane’s on main

What a delightful place! We came here on our last morning in Custer and I wish we had come sooner. We ordered a hot decaf Black Elk. The raspberry flavoring with the chocolate and espresso was absolutely wonderful. Waaay cheaper than chain places too. Everything bagel sandwich w/sausage. Bagel was really chewy and warm. Even though the egg and sausage are premade, it was fresh and tasty! A Black Hills burrito that came a fresh salsa. Lastly, we tried a mini apple kuchen. It was an apple cheese crumble on top of a dense bread/biscuit. Very good! Everything was packed in shabby chicesque boxes or wraps. There is a comfortable patio that you can lounge at with your dogs. They even have pup cups which our dogs loved.
