Went there for lunch and got the Calabash Fried steak and it was really good. The sauteed green beans weren’t that good but the mashed potatoes were good. My husband got the Calabash Chicken like he always does and he said it was really salty this time. The rolls, which used to be fried and were amazing, are now baked and not near as good. Please go back to frying them.. The service was great as always.

Still waiting for food I have been here an hour and 10 min even ask them to make it to go we had some where to be. I took 40 min to get a salad I did however manage to get the bill while wait for boxes. This used to be a decent place to bring the family. Now even though there was nobody in there when we got there took us an hour and 15 minutes to get it to go dinner it was a $127 for 2 kids and 2 adults two drinks. At this rate I don’t see any reason they can stay in business. I certainly will never be back.

GREAT food, and great service. A very pleasant atmosphere, clean interior with open spaces so you don’t feel crowded. Plenty of parking. Love the burgers. Centrally located so it’s a good place to stop before or after shopping. Blue Ridge Mall is just up the road.

Do NOT ..repeat… do NOT order their Prime Rib!
Right now I can only give them 3 stars. The first time we went to Fatz for lunch, we had their fried chicken tenders platter, which was very good. We really enjoyed it and were pretty excited about coming back and trying something else. Slim, our waitress was awesome! Great atmosphere.
That visit was 5 stars.
BUT….The other night, we both ordered Prime Rib…med. rare…it was horrible, but we ate it anyway because it was our dinner and we were hungry. It was very tough, on the dry side, cheap quality and completely flavorless… Mashed potatoes were horrible as well. Their “Yorkshire Pudding” is a biscuit.
The way we look at it, if you can not cook something good, then please DO NOT serve it to your customers….remove it from your menu until you know how to cook it.
They were not giving it away…we paid over $19 for their Queen Cut. With wine, beer, tip and dinner…we wasted $90.00. Wine was good, service was good, our bartender was wonderful. We sat at the bar, our bartender felt horrible that our meal was that bad.
For this visit, I can only give 0 stars.
Perhaps if they only served Prime Rib twice a week and REALLY perfected it… We would give their steaks/ Prime Rib another try….but until then…we are steering far away from any of their steaks and ribs.
BUT…On the other hand…as I said their chicken tenders platter were pretty good. We do want to go back and perhaps order “bar food” such as their wings etc.
So, we are not yet crossing this place completely off our list..

First of all the ONLY reason I gave it one star is because there is not an option for zero stars. The food is DISGUSTING and overpriced. The seats are uncomfortable and falling apart and ,the menus were sticky. The service was a joke,our waitress was clueless about the items on the menu and only did the bare minimum. Our food was cold,the fries tasted like they were cooked in old grease. As we were leaving,we noticed the 90 sanitation grade. We are praying that we don’t get sick from eating here.

Cane here with a small group for the all you can eat ribs offered on Thursday nights. The waitress was very friendly and acomadating. The ribs were a little dry and overcooked (ordered the sweet BBQ flavor). However, that aside the fixings were fine.

Used to better (4 or 5 years ago). Been steadily declining the last few times. tonight none of the food was good, mix of burnt or undercooked or old meat maybe just freezer burnt? Staff were pleasant but did not appear experienced or knowledgeable. Music was loud and not appropriate for their atmosphere of a hometown comfort food restaurant.

At around 7:15 p.m., Mr.and Mrs. Morgan arrived at Fatz Cafe in Hendersonville N.C. A wonderful experience ensued. The Host Staff were very courteous and helpful. Many people were waiting to be seated and an efficient Host and Hostess escorted everyone to their tables. When we were seated, our waitress was there to take our drink orders and made excellent menu selection suggestions with the utmost confidence and pride. Our dining experience was very delightful. The food was both tasty and very satisifying. The Wait Staff Manager stopped by to inquire about our dinner with the utmost true concern. Of course , we had to brag about how well the food was prepared and how well our waitress was taking care of us as well as all the other tables we observed her handling. Thank You for such a pleasant experience. Sincerely, the Morgan Family.

Horrible service and attitude. The waitress couldn’t even remember our drink order. She came back twice. Then after waiting 45 min for our food she came to tell us the computer went down and lost just our order. (Manager confirmed it was a lie) before speaking to the manager I asked 4 people for the manager and waited 15 min for her to appear and a complete separate waitress literally screamed at me and my husband for complaining. Two other customers already sitting down left and two couples waiting to be seated walked out also because of the lack of professionalism, respect,and quality of your workers.

The review below was from 3 yrs ago…I have to add another review and it has to do with our waiter Michael again. Wednesday 6/15/16 Mom chose to celebrate her 82 birthday at Fatz. My Dad passed away in December and Mom was not looking forward to yet another hurdle…the first birthday in 61 years without her husband. Michael didn’t know this, but the way he doted on her during our entire visit made her feel so special. In fact the entire staff was great!! Thank you all so much for helping us make this birthday a very happy memory for her!!!!
1st review….A friend and I had dinner there tonight and in fact eat there often on our girls night out. The staff has always been friendly and the food has always been wonderful and the service has always been great, but tonight our waiter, Michael, went above and beyond!! We were the ones that made a mistake on our drink order, but Michael went out of his way to correct our mistake. In the process we ended up with a very light-hearted experience that will bring a smile to my face every time I think about it.Thank you Michael for bringing us laughter…it is the best medicine!!!
