Visited on a Friday night and there was only one other car in the tiny parking lot. Not sure if that’s normal, but we were happy to get a spot. We ordered the char dogs and fries – all the components and the char make it so delicious and the hand-cut fries are the perfect side. We had walked six miles earlier and I was still hungry so I ordered the Jr Fatso burger with cheese and OMG – I was not expecting it to be this perfect. My daughter said her favorite meal from Chicago was the Eliana’s Mac n cheese. We did not try the milkshakes, but these looked great as well. Prices are also very reasonable. We had a great visit overall, so shoutout to the staff and cooks here.

First I lucked out with parking in their lot. Their parking lot has about 6 spaces and beyond that you would have to park along Clybourn somewhere.
I did 2 char dogs with fries and a soda. The dogs were great but my only gripe was their relish. It’s not Vienna relish but some other weird type. Maybe it’s the bulk restaurant type who knows. The fries were killer, fresh cut and fried to perfection. Their soda machine has some flavors of their brand. I saw Sprite but that was about it in regard to recognizable flavors. I tried Root Beer and it was fine.
The person who took my order on Thursday seemed like she didn’t want to be there.

I ordered fries, veggie dog and a root beer. The fries were great, an abundant amount using real potatoes. The Veggie dog in comparison to the best, Portillos, was not good at all. It looks like they made their own version that fell apart and it was breaded. The service was great but I definitely do not recommend the veggie dog. The picture is supposed to be similar to a beef hot dog in looks and taste. Fatso, please re evaluate the veggie dog it is not right!

i wish i could give this place 0 stars. this is the worst place I’ve ever tried in Chicago. my burger was pink, the cheese for my fries was inedible. it was disgusting i wouldn’t even consider it cheese. it was like a paste the mac and cheese was sooo dry. i wish i could just get the money i wasted back. such a shame!

The burger was delicious.
Doesn’t justify the expensive price, especially when you ask for cheese fries and they give you cheddar cheese that’s not even melted. It’s gritty. I’ve never had melted cheese like that in my life , looks like government issued cheese

Great classic Chicago dog spot outside the city. We ventured over for an authentic dog and Fatso’s did not disappoint! The dog was delicious, the fries homemade and cooked to perfection and the onion rings on point. Spent $11 on a dog, fries, soda and side of cheese sauce. Can’t beat it. Will definitely go back on my next visit.

They serve boozy milkshakes and regular milkshakes. We had the banana one. It was good. The grilled chicken sandwich was good. It came with fries and a drink for $14.00. I really appreciated the portion sizes. They give you a lot of food. The chili cheese dog is good, but the chili is very chunky. They charge 4% extra when using credit cards. My husband asked for the ooey gooey, and it says on the menu it will take 10 min, but the cook came over and said it would take at least 20 minutes for it to be out. The restaurant was very clean. The music they played was great, it was just too loud. All and all a great place for a quick bite. They do have a free parking lot.

Great burgers and shakes at Fatso’s Last Stand!
I ordered regular double patty Fatso’s burger, the Super Ooey Gooey stuffed patty burger, and an Oreo Shake.
The regular burger was complemented by the delicious fatso sauce, crisp onions, lettuce, tomato, and gooey cheese.
The Super Ooey Gooey stuffed patty was a monster! It’s stuffed with sharp cheddar, Giardiniera, and bacon. I enjoyed the flavors but honestly it was a bit much and the bacon wasn’t as crispy as it could’ve been. Worth trying but I think it was a little overhyped for me.
I would definitely come back here for the regular fatso burger, and I love their fries and shakes as well. Worth a visit!

Fatsos is always a good spot for food, does get pricey depending on what you get but worth it. Burgers are delicious full of flavor, fries are very good, the hotdogs/chili dogs are top notch. Shakes are amazing and thick. Only thing i do not like is that new cheese they use on their cheese fries its called merkts cheddar cheese, im sure some people like it.
