Fat Willie’s Fish Camp was patterned after the many seafood restaurants Bill Robinson patronized while living and traveling in North Carolina. These family owned restaurants are found in every part of North Carolina and are called Fish Camps by the locals. When he returned to his native state of Florida, Mr. Robinson brought the fish camp concept with him and opened his own restaurant.
This established eatery features fried seafood & familiar sides in a no-frills atmosphere.

First time eating at Fat Willie’s and safe to say it WON’T be my last! Loved the place! Fried Catfish is something we’ve searched hard for since moving to Florida. Southern Fried Catfish is extremely difficult to find down here but Fat Willie’s nailed it! Well worth the 45 minute drive. Their coleslaw was also the best we’ve had this far south. Fat Willie’s isn’t a big place and you can tell it’s a true “Mom & Pop” business. The decor reminded us of small restaurants with delicious home cooked meals……and the food was certainly delicious!

Overall had higher hopes for the place. It was decently priced but far too salty and oily. We could taste the cooking oil the things were fried in. The fries were a bit rubbery. The gator was SALTY. The service was meh. Food took a long time to come out even though there were only about 4 groups there. Expected far more seasoning in creol cream sauce. It was the best thing we got and still was kinda meh.

The best food. I am surprised we didn’t find this hidden gem sooner! Amazing tasting food and great service. Even with it being busy on Friday night our waitress was always checking on us and letting us know the status of our food. It was so worth the wait and it’s all we thought about when we left into the next day. Definitely worth coming back! Soooooo delicious! My WHOLE family HIGHLY recommends this restaurant!

Hush puppies were delicious!!! I don’t eat animals so I didn’t get to experience their seafood but my wife said her scallops were very good! The fried pickles and onion rings were great too! I also enjoyed the Key Lime Pie. We got our food to go and it was ready very quickly.

Great food at great prices! We were looking for a great local fish restaurant for Fridays during Lent, and are so happy we found Fat Willie’s! We had the shrimp and the gator, and both were delicious. The coleslaw was great, and I am not a huge coleslaw fan. The hush puppies were amazing and took me back to my childhood days when Grandma would make catfish and hush puppies. I definitely want to go back and try other items on the menu.

This is such a hidden gem! The place looks small from the outside, but it’s actually much bigger than expected. It has such a neat atmosphere. The service was excellent and the food was even better! Everything we ordered was delicious and fresh. The portions are generous, even for the kiddos.

We love eating here with our family. It feels like being in the country. The ambience & the food are awesome. We love the Gator tails, the you peel shrimps, the catfish with tartar sauce, and the cajun type pastas with seafood. Their coleslaw is super fresh too. We eat here at least 1 to 2 times per month. The servers are super attentive too!
