Fat Tuna Oyster & Grill in Williamsburg delivers a relaxed seafood experience with bold flavors and genuinely welcoming service.
The highlight from this visit was the fried shrimp tacos. The shrimp were crispy on the outside and tender inside, packed into soft tortillas and topped with sautéed zucchini, guacamole, and a creamy sauce that tied everything together. The mix of textures worked well and the flavors were rich without feeling heavy.
The sides balanced the plate nicely. The steamed broccoli was fresh and simple, and the creamy coleslaw added a cool bite that helped cut the richness of the tacos.
The service stood out. The wait staff was super friendly, attentive, and added to the laid-back coastal vibe of the restaurant.
Overall, this spot feels casual, approachable, and satisfying. A solid Williamsburg choice for hearty seafood tacos and welcoming service.

I love this place!! Atmosphere is cozy, welcoming, service was exceptional, all appetizers were delivered promptly. Hush puppies were crisp and very yummy. We appreciated them while waiting on our appetizers and food. Interesting thing – when you come in, you can try several types of wine for free. That was nice. Of coarse we ordered a bottle to the table! Fish we ordered was red snapper, halibut and seabass. All three were cooked to perfection! Even veggies were cooked just right, and not overcooked. Fresh raw oysters were slightly steamed and it made them even more tasty and sweet! So, overall, the best seafood place we went to over the many years.

Excellent food and service for Christmas Day dinner. Our server Anya was absolutely outstanding—extremely attentive without hovering; anticipating needs (drink refills, extra napkins, boxes…); helpful expertly deboning my brother’s whole fish; very friendly and cheerful despite the crowd and working on a holiday. A manager Michelle checked on us a couple times without being intrusive. The food was served promptly and was utterly delicious; we had the sea bass, the turkey dinner (Christmas special), and the stuffed flounder, with the Fat Tuna nachos (with tuna) to start.

This little gem of a place is INCREDIBLE. We got to try so many great menu items and were blown away but absolutely EVERYTHING. I cannot say enough wonderful things about the food. Our server, I think his name was Alan, (forgive me if I’m wrong) was fantastic. Thank you for an outstanding meal. I got the shrimp gumbo and it was SO DAMN GOOD. We WILL be back. ♥️

Although this was our first visit, we’re already looking forward to our next! We came here because of a recommendation, and the flavors truly lived up to it. We enjoyed the variety of fish and the generous portions. We shared a ceasar salad, sampled the Bronzini and finished with key lime pie. It’s definitely worth a visit if you love delicious flavors and friendly, attentive service. Our server, Miranda, and the manager, Melissa, made our experience even more special with their warm and professional approach.

I highly recommend Kevin if you sit at the bar. He’s very friendly and definitely a vibe. The oysters are to die for, the mussels were phenomenal, and the crab ravioli was excellent. Highly recommend this establishment!

This place is so amazing, we went 2 nights in a row on our trip. The oysters, blackened tuna and crab cakes are awesome. You will not be disappointed

First time here and the food was A++. Everything came out hot including the hush puppies and cornbread. Our waitress, Darlin was helpful, friendly, and not too over bearing like you get at other places. The owner even came and greeted us and all the other guests in the area.
Side bar: the jellyfish lighting put the biggest smile on my face and the local art all around was the cherry on top.

Where do I begin. It was a cold Christmas night and this was one of the only restaurant open. Since we were in the mood for seafood, this was the main choice. The parking lot creeps up on you so make sure you don’t drive too fast because you might miss the restaurant entrance . Tiny , tight parking lot so be patient since a lot of folks like this venue. We were greeted by a very attentive staff and seated almost immediately. The placed is decorated with Nautical themed trinkets and paintings. Cool jelly fish lights! This place cranks with people so be mindful , its turn and burn, be warned. Service as amazing (never an empty glass of drinks) and they give complimentary hush puppies and corn muffins when you are seated. Huge plus since it was warm and baked fresh. Wanted to get a shrimp app but instead got the Manhattan clam chowder and crab and corn chowder, both were very good. Not too over bearing when it comes to taste and saltiness. It was just right. Get the cup so you don’t over eat. We met , Michelle, one of the managers and she was very nice and recommended the chocolate cake as the dessert…..I’ll come back to that later. I got the seafood gumbo and it was A-1. My partner in crime got the Stuffed Flounder which comes with a choice of 3 complimentary desserts, which she got the Apple cobbler with vanilla ice cream. The “death by chocolate “ dessert was rich and moist, holy macaroni, it was deliciously prepared with a chocolate coat of armor. Based on the excellent service and reasonably priced food, I plan to try their Italian sister restaurant down the road called Sal’s by Victor! More to Follow…

The service was excellent. Our server was very nice and attentive. When I complained about my fish, the manager quickly addressed my concern.
My husband ordered the cioppino and I ordered halibut and crabcake. My fish was overcooked the first time and had no flavor the second time after I voiced my concern. The crabcake was on the salty side.
I ended up eating myself my husband‘s cioppino. Most of the seafood in the cioppino were overcooked. The sauce was plain tomato sauce and not made with fresh tomatoes. The pasta itself was overcooked and also had no flavor.
I really want to like the restaurant because the server and the manager were very nice. Unfortunately, the food was just not good that day.
