Bestie & I were hungry for some grub after working up an appetite from geocaching. We had high hopes but sadly, we were in for a let down. First, the hostess places our menus down, breakfast side up & even though the cutoff was 11, we arrived shortly thereafter so I had hopes that perhaps I could have breakfast vs lunch. I was promptly shut down by our server. I settled on fried clams that came with fries and butter beans. The butter beans had to have been straight out of a can as they had no seasoning or meat flavor. Even after I salted them, they were still flavorless. Our server was kind enough to remove them. The hush puppies and my bestie were the highlight of my lunch. Especially after hearing our server tell Bob’s wife that she would see what kind of breakfast she could get the cook to wrangle up for her. Now, don’t tell me no and yes to a regular because they threatened to “go somewhere else.” That is a direct quote from the regulars (I could hear their conversation because the restaurant wasn’t that busy.) Because my fries were under my clams they were soggy and I only ate 4 of them. It pains me to give them such a poor review but neither of us were impressed enough to even want to return.
I do commend them for being so community involved & charitable to our western neighbors after the storm.

Good BBQ on the Crystal Coast!
My family and I have had numerous bbq meals here. I have also been to a few events where they have catered. Always a great meal.

Fat Fellas has a pretty cool atmosphere and is filled with kind and considerate staff that show that southern genuinity.
Food was a little too lukewarm for our liking but was still very solid, especially for the price. Check it out if you are driving by or in the area.

Walking into this restaurant it is very relaxed, the staff are friendly, and actually pay attention to you. If you are looking for a fill’er up, just get the ‘I don’t know.’ It most certainly does NOT disappoint. The ribs were enormous! I almost couldn’t eat it all. The prices are fair in comparison. The atmosphere gives off a Route 66 feel.

We had our daughters wedding catered September 21, 2025. Jeremy and his crew did an outstanding job having food hot and ready right on time. We had hamburger steak, fried chicken, and shrimp with four sides and tea and lemonade. Food could not have been better. We have also been in the restaurant three times prior and were happy with everything from service to food and the environment. That is why we chose Fat Fellas to do our catering. Mr Jeremy runs a great establishment and it couldn’t be better!! God bless!

This establishment is a local owned market fresh, Fat Fellas, Bbq, Grille & Catering.. Atmosphere is outstanding for the Grill and dining area experience. The chopped BBQ is outstanding and will rank as one of North Carolina…. very clean atmosphere with plenty of space to park. Curb pick available.

Clean and nice location with a friendly staff. The food left a lot to be desired though. The ribs were good and the chili cheese fries were ok, but the “deluxe” chicken sandwich is simply a chicken patty on a bun—no cheese or toppings or condiments. The Mac n cheese is basically Kraft Mac n cheese. Nothing was bad but it wasn’t great either.

The waitress was awesome, very polite. The food came out pretty quick but my bacon egg & cheese biscuit was so greasy that it wasnt even edible.. if your looking for food that’s so greasy you can take a bath in it, you will love this place.

Had breakfast there with my infant daughter. It was very good and serving size was adequate and coffee was very good. We used to go to Havelock North Carolina to Bayside to get breakfast but they have since closed down so now this is our go to place to get breakfast Had a western omelette a side of grits, butter, toast, and orange juice. Daughter had chocolate chip waffle and five strips of bacon she had orange juice as well for the price paid under 35 bucks for everything tip the waitress 10 bucks because service was excellent and food was delicious. I haven’t gone there yet for lunch, but will make time to do that at a later date, but if you were interested in a good breakfast, a calm atmosphere then this is the place for you.
