I recently visited Fat Boyz BBQ and had a really solid experience overall. I’d rate the food about a 7.5 out of 10. The flavors were good, the meats were well-cooked and tender, and the portions were satisfying. While it may not be the absolute best BBQ I’ve ever had, it definitely hits the spot and delivers quality comfort food.
The service was one of the highlights of the visit. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed without being overbearing. Our food came out in a reasonable time, and the team created a welcoming environment from start to finish.
The restaurant atmosphere was enjoyable and relaxed. It had a laid-back BBQ vibe that made it a great place to sit down, enjoy a meal, and spend time with family or friends. Overall, I’d recommend Fat Boyz BBQ if you’re looking for good food, great service, and a comfortable setting.

This specific location has lessened in Quality lately. Only thing i get here mainly is Brisket or burnt Ends…
Over the last 3 times have noticed decline in quality of the brisket, overall has been getting dryer and dryer. As well as thinner… Brisket should be nice thick cuts… retains more Moisture flavors and over all Quality… Been so bad Sauce doesnt even help… Basically card board. Also was spoken to horribly by the manager and told by the main “cook” in the back that everything was cooked properly…. sir to you, ive eaten BBQ in ATL, SC, NC plus worked at smokey bones for a Year doubling there Catering Sales…. on top of being an Ex Chef in fine dining….. I know good meat. Do Better Like i remember it being the first 10 times i ate here

The food is a 3 out 5. The food is not consistent at this location. Service is a 2 out of 5. (This low rating has nothing to do with the front end staff etc. they all were very kind and went the extra mile). The low rating is based on the unfriendly performance I received from the OWNER (tall, medium build, African American man, with hair from Pompano). I felt unwelcomed as a black person, the Asian, white, and others were asked if everything was okay but I and my partner received a negative debate and history lesson about burnt ends and brisket. I stated that the last burnt ends were dry and tasted like overcooked brisket. I don’t eat brisket and I don’t enjoy brisket, but I enjoy burnt ends (which I know comes from brisket). To get to the point, I love when my beef to have m some fat, rendering, or thick marbling; therefore I can taste the moisture and it’s not dry. Kind words to that gentleman on the laptop (owner), I know what I’m talking about and I know what I should be tasting when it comes to burnt ends. I should not be receiving overcooked dry, rubbery, and hard meat. If I complain before the food leaves the restaurant, at no point there should be no debate and my food should be replaced. I have already spent hundreds at this location, referred many people and honestly do not want to spend another penny here. The food is good. Depends on who cooks it, (fish and greens are to die for but the Jerk Chicken is sometimes not spicy enough or it is burnt) but consistency is key. Also, by me receiving a debate from the owner that is a black man during Black History Month, I felt embarrassed and I realized I can’t voice my own truth based on the money that I spent.
Sincerely,
Dr. Peck & D. Huff Esq.

Everyone, stop here and please start enjoying the moment you cross the entrance gate… The smell of firewood begins to fill your senses… the simple yet cozy atmosphere invites you to sit down… just like you would by the bonfire in winter…
Friendly service will guide you through recommendations and available dish options… your dish will arrive before you even begin to wait for it… the perfectly cooked fries will be the perfect accomplice to the BBQ… finally, every bite will be a magical experience that will make you want to return to this wonderful place time and time again!!
In short… Delicious!!!

This location of Fat Boys BBQ was amazing. We ordered their pulled pork and jalapeño sausage. The food was genuinely delicious. Meats were cooked perfectly, juicy, and full of flavor, and the sides were just as impressive. We tried the Mac &Cheese, potato salad, jalapeño cornbread and garlic toast. Will and Taz took great care of us, and you could tell they really know what they’re doing. The care they took with our order and with us made the whole experience even better. Between the food and the service, this place is easily a 11/10.

New spot when coming to Fort Lauderdale for sure. Tried the St.Louis ribs and Jerk chicken plates with their Mac n cheese, fries and potato salad. The meat was so tasty, perfect crunch and tender. Mac and cheese was beautifullllll. Their sauces are incredible, a favorite was the hickory! Aside from the food the team welcomes you so nicely and were so attentive. Music was a vibe too. Thank you guys!

Don’t come here for the atmosphere but definitely come here for the bbq. Favorites include burnt ends (smokey, tender and juicy), brisket (that crust!), ribs (smokey and a good chew). Nice selection of sauces and sides are solid. Decor is not fancy but then again, neither is bbq. The dining room is small, so plan accordingly. Prices feel high but you’re getting some quality food.
Having been a long time fan (decades) of Tom Jenkins, I’m glad Fat Boyz came out the neighborhood.
Don’t miss this place when in Fort Lauderdale.

My husband and I have been craving bbq but we’re not sure where to go. We ordered the pulled pork, ribs, Mac n cheese and Texas toast. Amazing quality! Cooked and seasoned so well. Also loved the bbq sauce! Will definitely be going back.

This BBQ chain restaurant is phenomenal. The food is exquisite. Good ole fashion BBQ. Prices are a bit steep and parking is a bit limited, but trust me, none of that will even matter once you take a bite of their delicious and tender ribs or chicken. The sides they offer are the perfect compliment to complete your meal too. They have collard greens, yams, macaroni, baked beans, and more..I’m definitely making another visit soon!

I’m glad I paid this place a visit. I just arrived to Fort Lauderdale with the family, and we were so hungry. We went to the restaurant and were helped by this nice lady that I forgot to ask her name. The food and atmosphere were great. The portion was so big, we had to take the rest of the meal to go. We will definitely come back the next time we’re in town.
