It’s an awesome place to grab a bite to eat! We had a spectacular dining experience at Fat Boy Burgers when we visited Johnson City. We cannot wait to go back!
They offer indoor or outdoor seating and the drink station is self-serve.
Hubby and I both ordered the Blue Ultra Classic burger with onion rings. This exceptional burger burst with flavor and was cooked perfectly. The blue cheese crumbles, bacon, grilled onions, and mayo are a delicious melody of flavors that have you wanting more with each bite of your juicy burger.
The scrumptious onion rings have a nice crunch with a perfectly cooked onion inside and they just have a great flavor.
The menu has many options, and they also offer homemade desserts.
We did not have a long wait for our order, and the welcoming staff offered exceptional customer service, making us feel right at home.
Also, I loved the decor, and this unique establishment is not a typical chain restaurant. The vibe of a small town restaurant filled with friendly people is hard to beat.
Their prices are great as well. I highly recommend a visit to Fat Boy Burgers. Trust me, you don’t want to pass this one up!

The burger and fries were good. Really good. Onion rings were overcooked and seemed like the oil needed changing. Service was great, outside patio was cool. Would recommend but stick to burger and fries and you will be good. 1/2 lb burgers. Everyone complaining about price but quality was good and price was reasonable for a good burger thats big like that.

Fat Boy’s was pretty great. We stopped in after coming to see the lights in Johnson City, and it turned out to be a fantastic decision—especially since it was one of the few places open.
The burgers were delicious, and the fries and cobbler were clearly homemade, which made all the difference.
It has a great Texas vibe. If you’re on your way back from San Antonio or the state park, be sure to stop by and grab a bite.

Burgers weren’t so bad. Loved the fresh patties which was a big plus for me. However their fried sides, such as the onion rings and fried pickles weren’t as crispy as we expected. Definitely think the oil should have been hotter. It was more of a soft breading. These would of been great if they were crunchy but unfortunately they were too soggy for us to eat. Other than that, burgers were good and friendly staff! Would love to come back here next time we’re in town.

Had the American Legend and the Road King. I loved my American Legend w/ grilled onions, but the Road King was a bit overwhelming in size and underwhelming in flavor. They were quite busy, which is probably why the cheese wasn’t melted and we had to wait quite a while for our food. I’d skip the average tots and get the onion rings again, with a side of their Come Back sauce.
Lots of seating, friendly service, and self-serve soda.

I eat a lot of burgers all across Texas, always searching for the best one, and this puppy is dang good lemme tell you h’wat. Onion rings are superb and made in house. Wash it all down with a beer. Awwww yeah. Looks like it’s a decent size property.

Fat Boy Burgers is decent. I wouldn’t classify them as being the place you just have to stop at. In my opinion they’re pricey, burger a little on the bland side, and bun is from any ol supermarket. A single patty burger only (no side) is right at $11. If you’re passing through, headed north, and can wait for Storms in Burnet or Lampasas, you’ll have a better burger and save some money (Storms Special – triple patty burger with fries – is $11. The Fat Boy venue is pretty cool, though. And the staff were really friendly. If I were a local I’d probably eat there often but next time I pass through I’ll try something else.
